Way to go! Impressive times! I can totally relate to the bike issue. Riding my hybrid in my first tri last month, I felt so slow! But it did get me up the killer hills, while others were walking their bikes. :bigsmile: Next year, I will probably borrow my husband's road bike for tri's.

That is awesome!! I'm following a similar path. First 5K was in 2011, and this year I did a half marathon and sprint triathlon. I would love to increase my speed. It's so encouraging to see your progress! Way to go!!

This^^^ Between the sugar in alcohol and lack of other nutrients, including water, I've seen bloated faces and tummies. But I guess everyone is different. Maybe it depends on what you drank, like yarwell said.

This ^^^ My longest run was 10 miles and that was exactly one week before my half. I had no ill effects. And I've seen many articles that say you don't have to run the full distance during your training. As proof, my friend trained a lot harder than me and ran the full distance two weeks before our half. I worked up to 10…
