Congratulations! Care to share your insite to you awesome success?

Have to say that you don't see that kind of work out determination too often! I always look at newbies with patience because they're only doing what every book, magazine, TV show, etc. is telling them they should be doing - but they don't "get it" yet. While it is frustrating, don't let them raise your blood pressure -…

Not a fan of the greek yogurt - tried it a while ago and just didn't care for how it coated my mouth. Maybe they've gotten better. I really like the Stonyfield low fat yogurts. Unfortunately, I can only find vanilla and strawberry in my area. They're both very good, but a little more variety would be nice!

Fresh cherries (expensive little treat) oranges/tangerines baby carrots grape tomatoes low fat granola bars

Thanks for asking THE question! I've been put off because of the texture/being watery and the thought of mixing sweet things into it has never sounded good. But some of these suggestions might get me to try it again!

I don't have Pampered Chef brand, but have a few stones and pieces of cookware. LOVE them! From the even cooking, to not having to use oils/sprays to easy clean up. They are awesome.

You're not the only one whose done this! First there's shock, then anger.....

A lot of people have said they feel like Jillian is watching over them - I think she would be pleased!
-
I beginning to believe this now that I have accomplished a couple of those milestones. Thanks!

Thanks and I am like you. I get on that "sugar leads to more sugar" thing!
-
We take our victories as we can, eh? Being the choco-holic I am, I find the sugar free cocoas a little tough to drink - I put the french vanilla Splenda sweetner in it (I know not the best thing, but when the evil craving strikes!)

:)

Agreed - please know it wasn't my intention to attack her or anyone else. Some people deal with their insecurities in weird ways. Again, my issue is with iffy marketing strategies in general.
-
I've never said it was a negative message - I just think young people may interpret it differently than we do. And yes - teeth commercials are nasty! I guess I have more of a problem with marketing techniques than with Jillian Michaels.

Okay

Oh snap

Well said

I'm really not even interested in the products they're peddling (people have to make a living, eh?). What upsets me most are the messages being projected toward women through the pictures alone. It kind of makes me sad.

Just keep rehearsing the food plan in your head. It has always helped me! Good luck! Happy birthday and many returns.
-
And I understand advertising is necessary to keep this great site going :)

My intention is not for anyone to attack anyone. I just know I have my own insecurities and was wondering what other people thought about it. I just feel really bad for young people - they have a lot of issues to contend with in the media. (opinion) I hope people focus on being healthy.

That's very true!

Please know that it does get easier. I think we all have been "programmed" to address food emotionally all of our lives. The reprogramming is hard - but once it all clicks and you see how this sensible weight loss approach works, it will get to be 2nd nature for you. Best of luck! And it does make a difference (both…

Can't get enough to eat a couple days before. And I go through the sterotypical cravings (salt, sweet). In addition, I have "out of body" experiences as far as short temper and weeping sessions. Which drives me crazy because any other time, I'm very even tempered and usually just go with the flow. Just another "challenge"…

I'm a tea addict and asked the same question. But I was told you couldn't count it towards your water total if it was caffeinated (?). I was told the reasoning is that caffeine (in large amounts) can dehydrate you - the opposite of what you're trying to do by drinking water. I figure I'm drinking liquids and it should…

Did not know that about the wasabi! I think I've got a food plan in my head now and should be fine. I think I can now enjoy the evening with my friends without so much worry about the food side of the evening! Thanks everyone.
-
That is a success story - the ability to say no is a milestone! I need to bake a boatload of of cookies for a huge event next weekend and I am putting off making them until the very last minute so I don't have them hanging around taunting me.

I do not care for eggs either. I will have Cheerios with lowfat milk or wheat toast with peanut butter or a bagel with light butter when there's absolutely nothing else in the house. On the run, I'll grab a banana and cereal/granola bar that keeps me pretty full.

I thought the stress that caused cortisol was worry-type stress and not physical activity. I think there's a significant difference.

Do you exercise at night? I find that if I exercise in the evening after dinner, it gives me a boost and I don't feel tired at bedtime. I try to exercise right after work so I can wind down. I've never had sleeping problems - that would be VERY tough for me. Hope you find the answer!
