These men sound crazy as hell, lol.. the guy who keeps dissing on himself sounds like a buddy of mine, and it's pathetic as hell to hear that, because it always seems like they're looking for the sympathy play. Hiding things is also really shady. The chap who was older and heavier than his pictures needs to get updated…

Hahah, mine trumps everything so far, I think. About six years ago I was talking to a girl online, getting to know her somewhat. She was quite a looker and seemed like a great person. Even texted with her a lot. We planned to actually meet up on Halloween, but before that could happen, she confessed that she was actually…

I confess that I have not been on a real date in almost a year, lol

In practicality, hug! In theory.. any but pass? lol

1. Sure. Wouldn't bother me any. 2. I guess it would be cool to know but if not then no biggie.

I laugh at the notion of sex being just a four to twenty minute ordeal, lol. I feel sorry for those involved!

Saw a couple of posts back that people were wondering about the Gold's Gym on Shortridge. It's a decent facility - not the best by any means, but there is a pretty good selection of things to do. Don't ever plan on hitting chest during peak hours on Monday, it is an absolute zoo then. People love to misplace the dumbbells…

If I want a huge burn, I'll go hiking. At my current body weight, MFP estimates that hiking with a 10-20lb pack (I'll go out with anywhere between a 20-40lb pack) burns 596 calories per hour. I normally believe these to be kind of overestimates, but with that 20-40lb pack, the sometimes steep grades and rugged terrain…

Wow, a ten minute mile at 400lbs is absolutely booking it! Great work and keep it up!

It's burnin' up in here!

Pretty much this. If people don't leave stuff to "save" their spot then I have no issue with them, unless they're breaking some other anti-douche rule of the gym, haha.

It's been awesome being able to watch you along some of this journey and definitely keep it up and keep spreading the word, you look amazing and that trend only continues as you keep on pushing along!

Son of a gun, that is some fantastic weight loss. Keep that stuff going!

I would say diet, personally. It's not impossible, but it is quite difficult, to out-exercise a bad diet! I always recommend people change their diet slowly though. Not go for a "diet" but to make overall lifestyle changes that are healthy and sustainable for the long term. Slowly but surely - it doesn't create the…

This is really all you need. I'd say to continue forth - you're not going to become a female hulk without some serious supplementation, and never on those calories. And forget what the scale says. I was my lightest last year at 159lbs after a hospital stay but I will say I look a hell of a lot better right now at 175lbs!…

That looks like a decent general workout, but 1000 calories would definitely be the high end of the range there. I noticed on the side bar it had a high and low estimate - I would disregard the high one altogether personally, even being of the body type that is likely to burn a higher end amount!

OH, thought of another one. There's this young guy I often observe in the mornings, he will grab a fairly heavy weight for lateral raises (like 35 or more, I don't remember exactly) and then he will use like a 6-8" range of motion. I always thought when doing those, you were supposed to bring the dumbbells up to roughly…

My two biggest areas of concern are reasonable calories and high protein. High protein means I won't shed as much (if any) muscle mass when I'm in a deficit, and reasonable calories.. well, I won't add body fat! I try to stick to decent sodium levels too. I tend to cycle as far as carbs go and I make sure to get enough…

I would burst into some maniacal laughter at that! On a positive note in my gym, I do occasionally see some really unfit people come in, even regularly, to hit some workouts - they always get my props. There's an older guy who is in some of the mornings that I'm there. He's probably no younger than about 70, perhaps even…

I mostly get to see gym clowns. Most commonly, it's a large group of BIG guys (like NFL lineman sized guys but nowhere near as athletic). They'll be wearing weighted vests, they'll put one of those squat pads around the barbell, throw 3-4 plates on each side, then bounce it off of their chest usually 1-4 times. Then get up…

Few of my better ones lately: For strength... leg pressed five reps of 920lb last week.. my five rep range on dumbbell bench press is now up to 90lb dumbbells, have shoulder pressed 65lb dumbbells for a set of 8.. I'm a bit inconsistent doing barbell squats but my five rep max right now is about 265lbs, that is of course…

Pretty much lol, I guess "more or less the same thing" could be taken as meaning "somewhere within the ballpark." I have a horrible habit of speaking quite often in generalities.

Holy cow man, that is some epic progress. Great job for turning your health, fitness, and life around!

Just a tip for anyone reading this far into the thread, and assuming the thread might still actually be about CrossFit: From personal experience, if I ever feel the pankering to do a CrossFit type workout, I'll just throw a few moves together, generally set a goal of how much of each I want to do, and see how quickly I can…

Amazing transformation! Well done and it's nice to see that you are passing the enjoyment of activity to the children too!

Love dumbbell workouts and exercises myself. Really no better way to tone each side of the body than to do so using both sides individually.

If you're on a treadmill, one thing I would do is bump up slowly. Sometimes I'll just add like 0.2 to the next time I run (though I need to actually get consistent with it myself). One thing I could swear I hear once in a while, if you're running a 5.0 pace, try jumping to 6.0 or so, but just run 1/4 mile, then take a…

Love all the disparaging comments in here.. hilarious! If you're on point most of the time, even once a week eating like that is not going to turn you back into the couch king or queen. Take it from me, I do work my *kitten* off and stay pretty strict during the weekdays, but I would say I probably easily surpassed 5000…

Fage yogurt is awesome. I eat enough of it that I probably should own stock in their company, lol. I'll also eat Dannon/Oikos but I prefer to skip most others. I laugh at some of the things that use the "Greek" label because it's chic (case in point, I checked out the Ben & Jerry's Greek yogurt products at one time). Same…
