I have a FitBit and love it! It integrates easily with MFP - not sure if the FuelBand does that. And you can stick it in your pocket so don't see it. If you are working out hard (other than walking) a heart rate monitor is more accurate. With the FitBit app you can input your calories for your workout from the HRM and it…

Dumb question, but you need to take the seeds out first, right? Sounds yum!

I recently started the Wheat Belly Diet (similar to Paleo with some dairy), and counting all my calories on MFP. Makes me not hungry, which is awesome!!!! I am making Paleo Italian Meatloaf right now: http://paleomg.com/italian-meatloaf/ Also making oven roasted broccoli and cauliflower. I think most veggies taste best…

Congratulations! I'm actually getting baptized in a couple weeks, and I'm 40!! Better late than never :-) I started the Wheat Belly Diet last week and so far it's helped me not feel hungry/have cravings. It's a lot like Paleo but with some dairy. I'll have to see how it works on my PMS week as that is usually when I put…

Totally fell off the wagon with a bag of chocolate chips last night and tonight... I will blame hormones (the men have it lucky!) Will hit the store tomorrow. The hubs is traveling all week so it's too easy to be lazy and eat crap or go to Chickfila. By the way, go see the Les Mis movie!! It was awesome, but intense - a…

I am good about exercising, so for me it's tracking everything I put in my mouth, and also cutting wine out almost completely. If I drink wine, I tend to eat! Also, focusing on health and fairly clean eating instead of eating "diet" foods. I try to stick to a 40-30-30 mix of carb, fat, protein. If I go over my carbs (or…

So sorry for your loss, MrsZippy. I lost my mom a year ago and also put on weight. I am just now seriously taking it off. Your grandparents would want you to be happy and healthy!

- I am healthy and strong and am able to exercise and eat healthy. God gave me this one body and I need to feed it, move it and not abuse it. - I have gained muscle since starting bootcamp a year ago and don't look half bad with clothes on! - I have logged my food for a week and exercised consistently. - I didn't beat…

This is a good one! We are going to a friend's house for dinner so that means I will have to have some wine :-) Pre-logging now! I think... I can stick.... to 2 glasses.... and no dessert! Thanks for the support, y'all!.

I'm in! Need to stay motivated and a little competition helps :-)

Definitely food. I've been doing bootcamp, spin, etc for over a year and gained weight! I only have 15 lbs to lose but it's really hard, especially now that I'm 40 (at least that's what I tell myself). I think the key is logging every day, even if you drink several glasses of wine and binge on brownies one day :-) Sweets…

Love workouts that don't require equipment so can do at home! Did 6 rounds, total 44 minutes, 420 calories. Did V-ups instead of tummy tucks. For those of you just starting to exercise, this was a hard workout so don't be discouraged!! You will get better results, IMO, doing full body workouts like this than just doing…

I've used a Polar HRM when exercising for years and just got a Fit Bit for Christmas. So far I love it! It is very motivating. It works great with most day to day activities but if you are lifting weights or on a stationary bike (anything where your HR is up but you are not moving up and down) the HRM is more accurate. The…

My personal goal is to focus on body fat %. I have one of those fancy scales that while not perfect, has been pretty dang accurate. Current body fat: 30% Goal: 19% (I was there 4 years ago) Current weight: 135 lbs Goal: 118-120 lbs To achieve this, I plan to workout 4-5 days a week (2 of those bootcamp) and complete my log…

Would love to join! I just got a Fitbit for Christmas and am ready to lose 15 lbs (may take more than 50 days but that's OK). I turned 40 last year and it's a lot harder to lose, even though I work out 4-5 days a week. Thanks!
