Wow! what an amazing change, you look fantastic! Congratulations :)

Very cool to see the difference all over; especially in the arms. Congratulations!

If you increase that you are most definitely burning more calories than just 1500 - 2000 steps. For example, you walk for 1/2 an hour, it is approximately 2500-3000 steps, at 2.5 mph (quite slow) and you burn approx 140 cal. That is 140 cal more than sitting on your couch doing nothing! And as your speed increases, so will…

I just want to say, thank you for this thread! I really struggle with the OHP at 5x5 at 70 lbs, so it's good to know I'm not the only one. I'll gladly take some of the tips offered here!

Lots of great information here, and I can see why you are starting to get overwhelmed with all the conflicting information. I'm a bigger girl as well, as have found great success with Stronglifts + cardio I enjoy.
-
I try and do Stronglifts, and running/horseback riding on my off days. Trying to do a couple group fitness stuff during the week as I can. Monday - Lift Tuesday - Run/Ride Wednesday - Lift at lunch, Riding lesson Thursday - Run Friday - Lift Saturday - Long run, ride Sunday - Rest day!

Short answer: It depends! Long answer: It depends on what you're eating and what you're doing ;) I find many exercises fitbit does not really register well - calisthenics, body weight workouts, sprints, etc. In which case I would eat back the calories and maybe a bit more. If I am hungry after an intense workout, you can…

Congratulations! You're going to rock it! I too would suggest getting in a similar type of run before the data as "prep". Good luck!

Thanks for doing this! Hopefully I can break my plateau :)

Did my first race, a Sprint here in Calgary. The huge hills at the beginning killed me, but I knew that would be tough going in. We had a great group to run with so we only ended up doing... 90? burpees, and some of us are some bigger ladies :p Made a pact to do the trifecta within two years. Definitely can be addicting!

Unfortunately I didn't get it checked early enough to figure out what actually happened. I find it is fine as long as I consciously use the muscle (ie during a bench at 100 lbs/front squat). If doing burpees, etc, and I kind of leave the arm "loose" that is when I will start to feel it. I hear you on the flexibility doing…

Thank you both for the input and suggestions, I really appreciate it. I'm not intending to get my core work from the front squats, that was just the only major difference she stated when explaining it to me (she was really not impressed that I just don't do front squats). Usually I add core work for about 10-15 minutes to…

Black, just like my metal.

For some people - yes. Getting a Fitbit really helped "kickstart" -my- personal weight loss. For others, I'm SURE it would be pointless.

Ideally I'd love to lose 60 more :p but I'll be happy wherever I land. Love active friends so I'll send a request!

Very common. I wanted to talk progress pictures after losing 30 pounds, and not gonna lie, had a good cry about it because there was still so much left to change.
-
Love it.

Well I know personally, whenever I hit a "plateau" that happens. I had a solid 8 lb loss in July-August, but feel like since I hit my 30 lb loss, it's just been sitting there. Especially as I feel like my diet is better than ever recently. I know I'm getting stronger, and weight isn't the REAL issue, but it doesn't help me…

Hope you made it and the show went well. 5 lbs is a lofty goal to set, but if you're eating well and getting about 10000 steps a day in you should make it :)

1) Pictures. I HATED seeing riding photos and I would just pick myself apart. 2) Airplane seats. 3) Getting to the point where I wasn't able to do that sport I loved (horseback riding) and couldn't find snowboarding pants that fit. 4) Not having any self confidence anymore .... lots of things. I still struggle with self…

I have had a TON of rocky times with my mom. It sounds like a break from her is definitely in order. I'm not TOO much older than you, but only now since I've moved to a different province, has she really become supportive. I am someone who has -always- struggled with diet, but love working out. I would be doing great with…

I would say what you're eating plays a large part.

For the love of God, keep that shirt on til you lose at least ten more pounds. ;)

I have to admit I'm kinda jealous of you ladies (or men?. Mine were around 19", and are down to around 17.5 since I started running. The trick is to find jeans with a little amount of stretch , then grab a belt to keep those suckers up ;)

Yup I cried and stuff. I had that realization last summer, and it took my until this year to get on track. Thank you for being an inspiration!
-
Love my Fitbit! It definitely kickstarted my weightloss when I got it in December :) I'm sure there are other nice options out there. I do wish it also had a HRM. Good luck!

Admitting to myself, family and friends how much I really weight before I had lost? Hellllll no. As the weight came off, everyone was SO supportive and awesome, it really does keep me accountable. Like most people though, the actual number I am trying to get to is less important than how I get there, my health, and…

I'll send an invite! Lost just over 30, have a good 50+ I'd like to lose still, workout regularly, and TRY to log meals regularly. I need to get more active friends to remind me to log in though! =)

Crazy! You look great!

I have about 52 pounds (to get to 160) I would kill to lose. Down 28 (33 since my max) so far using stronglifts, running, and horseback riding, as well as MFP.
