I've found that after short breaks - that first run back is tough - but the next is easier. Its amazing how fast the body recovers and remembers :-) Hang in there. Carrie

Saw this WAY to late....but if you have a February challenge - I'd love to be a part!!! I'm mainly on my trainer in these cold winter months...but this would give me the motivation to make it consistent!! Let me know if a February group starts.! Carrie

I had a similar pain last year...that slowly got worse - to the point that I finally went to the podiatrist. She diagnosed: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0004542/ Mortons Neuroma and suggested that I get new running shoes and orthotics. I have the Polar H7 and use it with my iPhone. I like it because it works with runkeeper, and other apps through bluetooth, and I upload my workout automatically to the polarpersonaltrainer website. Carrie

Ok...sounded like fun...so I downloaded the 5k and did it on the treadmill this morning - The app uses an accelerometer to count steps...so you don't HAVE to use a GPS signal - but it didn't give distance which was a little bummer. Thats me! I'm 40 something....and have a little less than 10 more pounds to lose....I'm doing is slowly by burning more than I'm eating. Exercising on a regular basis - and not beating myself up when I have an occasional treat. This is a life long process for me. Carrie

1/6 - 3.5 miles 1/7 - 3.5 miles 1/8 - 4.2 miles 1/9 - 7 miles 1/10 - 3.25 miles 21.45 miles so far this week...42.21 miles so far this month, and that may be it as I think I've developed Plantar Fasciitus!! I'm going to rest it the next couple of days at least - and see what happens. Carrie

ME!!! I'm so glad I saw this post. I would love to offer support and be supportive to other 'shorties' wanting to lose those last 5-20 pounds. I'm 5'4" ish.....(a little shorter) I started at 150....now I'm 145....and would like to be at 135... I eat around 1200 a day.... Carrie
