So I got up earlier this morning and hit my first hurdle, couldn't find a video quickly and gave up that idea. I then downloaded the 7min workout app but found that really hard to follow as wasn't sure when I was meant to move onto the next rep 🤔 all was not lost however as I did manage a whole 5 mins on my stationary…

Thanks so much everybody, alarm is set for half hour earlier, just hope I find the same motivation that pushed me to create this post first thing tomorrow morning

Thanks AnnPT77 there's no doubt I want to get fitter now, for too long I couldn't because I was a smoker and that hindered progress, now my weight gets me out of breath! I'm just fed up of making excuses for why I can't do something. I need to find what motivates me to get up at 5 instead of 5:30, with results so slow it's…

I'm eating 1400 calories per day, all the weight is on my tummy, I'm actually thinking of seeing my gp as it doesn't seem to budge but wanted to try everything first
-
Thanks both, when the weather was better we were going for short walks but they would argue or just want to come back so it actually got pretty frustrating so I have no chance of getting them out now it's colder. I'll give the YouTube videos a try as I could possibly do those before I get them up in the morning. Trying to…

So...I decided to venture into that area today...eek...got scared and went to see a member of staff about showing me proper form. I'm going back next week when he will devise a 2 day full body programme for me...he likes to do weights with HIIT as he believes that way you keep your heart rate higher for longer. (It's only…

My girl is on a BARF diet and has been since 5 weeks of age, here's a photo of her at approx 12 weeks devouring an ox heart

Yes I know it's me and only me...but don't want to be seen using Nancy weights and people secretly thinking "seriously girl chuck some more weights on there or get off and let someone who can really use it have a go"!
-
A huge thanks to everyone who has responded. Just ordered my copy of New Rules from Amazon, although next week is half term here so it's gonna be tough to get much done with the kiddies around...perhaps I can get get started anyway giving them all superman lifts haha Booked my 2nd pilates session for this week so gonna…

Add it as a new exercise, I've added mine but only so I know I've done it and not for the calories...I see it more as strength and toning and therefore have my burn set as 1 calorie for 60mins!!
-
Brill thanks...bodyweight ones are already coming along nicely thanks to pilates which I hope to do twice a week instead of once and as I've said I've already started 'messing' with 3kg dumbbells at home. I think my next step is possibly start with the kettlebells class and progress to the machines and eventually free…

Not really got a programme as such..using only dumbbell lifts that's in the Davina workout DVDs I used to use and a few that I've found on youtube which aim to assist with my bingo wings...but deffo looking to get a copy of NR so that I can actually get a whole body routine going at some point. As soon as I feel more…

me! Is why I intend to invest in some heavier weights and start at home first so I don't look like a big girls blouse! Good luck xx

Do you have a game console? I love my EA sports Active really got me going and even have my own gym membership now! It can be fun...even addictive! Good luck xx As other posters have said do what you can do...and then a little more the next time. Start slow and you'll keep going!

I've started getting more and more interested in this since joining the MFP community. I'm thinking of getting one soon...a treat to myself but actually want one that I can use calculate my non gym days too so that I can then accurately compare how much more I really do when I have a gym day. All interesting stuff. Think…
-
yes if you want a MFP estimation of cals burned...or you could just add your own exercise if you wear a HRM.
-
Thanks for the really quick reply girls....it's much more encouraging when you actually hear people telling you to start light and build up than getting an idea in your head that you should already be able to lift heavy. I'm on 3kg dumbbells at the moment which is just over 6 pounds but after just 2x8 reps I begin to…

I used to have a drawer full of them...but now the welsh government insist on us paying for our carrier bags they go straight back into my car instead.

I'm actually looking forward to redecorating now!

There's a quotation on the wall in my gym 'No matter how hard you go you're still lapping everyone on the couch' Always makes me feel so much better ;-)
-
I actually managed to get someone else's make-up on me the other day off one of the machines. Girls...please.
-
I'm really enjoying it and the competitive side of me just won't allow the instructor to win me in any of the races! Does anyone know if there's a way to challenge people online?
-
That's a shame that the online bit doesn't work. I'm doing it in addition to my regular gym sessions. Done 2 so far :)

We have a take away as a treat weekly too. I log it in the morning and work my other meals around it. Sometimes I go over, but it's only a day and this is a lifestyle change not a diet to me so days happen. Some days I don't hit my target but I don't rush to the fridge to get more calories in so I figure I shouldn't be too…

I add mint leaves to mine, makes it a whole lot more acceptable...now I don't need to add it as often. Just watch what your adding and check labels.

ROFL
-
haha. The little devils eh?! For a whole week I thought MFP was playing up when I hit complete day and it said I would weigh an absolutely staggering amount in 5 weeks!
-
I go over on sugar every day too, but mine is mostly from fruit so I' not bothered by it. You can always up your level in the settings if it bothers you.
-
skin too for me sorry...I love the sour taste of it :D

I use a digital one which I bought from Avon, I think it's an Ashley Warehouse one (if that's even a brand-but it's the only sticker on there). I find it really useful as it remembers your settings re height age etc and gives you a full breakdown of your BMI, hydration, fat etc and measures in KG, pounds and stone and…
