I eat when bored also (I also eat when stressed, tired, and sometimes for no reason at all) 1st rule ALWAYS log everything you eat when you eat it (this has stopped an occasional binge) Find something to do to distract yourself, leave the house if you have to. You can do it. Sometimes drinking a lot of water helps me…

Welcome back, this site gives you the tools to succeed, if you want it you can lose the weight. Be religious about entering calories and follow a realistic plan and you will get to where you want to be.

I use the treadmill a lot, followed by the stairmaster, then the Precor AMT, sometimes I use a rower (but that one kills me)

Have you tried ON's Pro Complex, tons of protein, relatively low calories, tastes good

If you need 2000 calories to maintain and that is what you eat that's it you will not gain or lose. You will have to experiment to see exactly what will maintain your weight. At this point in the game I would go by how your cloths fit and not your weight. Being a guy your goal should now be to put some muscle mass on and…

get religious about recording everything you eat, also don't overestimate calories burnt during workout. This site is a great tool but it isn't an exact science. Be patient, as long as you aren't putting weight on you'll get there. Keep up the good work If your not, try a bit of weight training also.

Our YMCA offers so much for the entire family that the choice was easy

I'm a 5 AM person also. For short 30 minute workouts I usually don't eat and have a good breakfast right after. If I'm pushing it a bit I have a little protein shake (very little 1/4 serving) before I go out, then eat breakfast after. I use Pro Complex by Optimal Nutrition. It is easy to digest, doesn't have any sugar and…

I think it depends on the brand, I've tried several before settling down with ON Pro Complex, from time to time I found the higher carb level of some of the shakes did give me that crash.

Just follow this website, it is really that easy. Start working out but if your body isn't use to it then take it real slow. C25K is a great plan for beginner runners, (just google it) Log everything that you eat and you will make great progress Use the site to look up stuff you want to cook and you'll figure out what you…

Sorry about your loss, you are with friends here and can do it. Many of us have had a hard time controlling our weight, I am currintly dropping after a summer of bad food. You will do it, this is the best place I know for genuine support Good luck and keep us posted to your progress

BMI is just an indicator, not law. Try for around 200 and I think you'll like what you see. I know I feel a lot better if I'm under the Obese line and have dropped to a low of about 185. I'm 5'10" on a larger frame. It was a little too hard to stay at 185lbs. Once your down and can stay there you will want to push yourself…

This is the perfect place to be. Follow the program and that weight will safely and definitely come off. I had tried and failed to achieve long term weight loss doing other diets and such, this website has given me the ability to drop the weight at will (I still have a hard time maintaining) but when I put on a bit more…

Keep up the good work

It depends on how much running you will do and what surface you run on. Also if they are support, control, etc. Your weight also is a factor. You should start to look at your shoes at 300 miles, see how your body feels, talk to the sales staff at a GOOD running store, they will help. When you got your shoes did the sales…

It is always a good idea to start slow with a high impact exercise like running. I'd follow the couch to 5 K religiously to avoid injury. I've been running for some time now and never run more then 2 days in a row, it isn't worth injuring yourself.

A number of people I work out with hit the pool to workout with arthritis. The water keeps your body weight off of your joints, you might want to try it.

as much as we would like you can not bank calories, At night, when you are asleep, your body does most of its repair. It will fill your glycogen stores first and repair what muscle it can but any left over calories will be stored as fat for later. With that being said, 1 lb of fat is 3500 calories, so unless you are…

You are not alone. I haven't been able to find that magic number of calories that keeps me from losing or gaining. All I need to do is have a piece of junk food and can binge for 2000 calories, the junk food calls me, I have no idea if their is a magic time when you stop having problems with your weight. All I can offer is…

just like some times your body stalls out it can burn off 1/2 pound a day. Just make sure you eat enough so that is fat and not muscle.
-
sounds like you just gave yourself a good idea. try walking to get your HR up then get off lift a few quick sets (to keep your HR up) and then hit the treadmill again. Try keeping your HR up for the entire hour of loser. That would be one heck of a workout.

Mine moved in the wrong direction, and all I did was attempt to put some muscle on. I'm beginning to believe the see how your cloths fit group. So far my cloths fit fine and I feel good, so I'm desperately trying not to worry about the scale. Hang in there, you are doing what you should to take care of yourself.

Great job, I remember how happy I was on that day. Keep up the great work

It is a bit hard to tell from the pictures but at 5'4" 110 is not too thin. A lack of muscle tone could be what your family is describing as too thin. Try to work out more with weights and you may find that you lose more fat and look better. When I first lost weight I got down to about 185 but because I was actively trying…

Once you go to sleep that day is done. While you sleep your body will metabolize what is in your digestive system and if it is excess calories it will be converted to fat. You can't get rid of it by eating like a bird the next day, the damage is done. Just start new the day after the binge and in a few days the binge…

If you eat lunch around noon then I would expect you to hit a wall around then. You should be eating a snack about then to keep you going till your next meal. Look at what you eat for Lunch and make sure you don't have too many simple carbs that will spike your blood sugar and cause you to feel that run down drop. Since…

I do cardio almost every day. I've learned that you do need to take a day off every once in a while. About half of the days I run, then for the rest I go between swimming and cross training. For me it is how I feel, if my legs don't feel that good I'll swim. Sometimes I'll run 2 days in a row but never 3. I mix weight…

I have the exact same problem. For me it is that first bite of junk that gets me spinning out of control. If I can refrain from that I can hold it together and go to bed just fine. Last binge was a fundraiser candy bar that started it. I dipped it in peanut butter (and aside from the candy at 300+ calories I had 4 servings…
