  • I burn around 400 - 425 calories. I'm 5'2" and weigh 147. Calories burned will depend on your effort and body type.
  • Everyone, we have a new team member! Please friend tbhoover. Missliz89 was no longer interested. Thanks!
  • Jumping jacks should have been posted under cardio section.
  • Great day so far guys. Lets keep it up! Remember tomorrow's challenge is 1 mile in addition to your normal walk, run, jog. Tomorrow's my beginning day for Insanity, but I promise to get at least a mile in, in the morning. I don't work tomorrow :o) Lucky me!
  • You will post when you log all your exercises for the day. But please also comment on your exercise post that it included the challenge. As when you log multiple exercises, it combines the cals to say "includes...". So it may not say, 40 up and downs or whichever exercise the challenge was for the day. Also keep in mind…
  • Correct. We start tracking on Monday August 1st. I just wanted starting weights today and take a before photo first thing in the morning (if you can).
  • The link for the Ups and Downs is - http://www.youtube.com/user/sixpackshortcuts?v=bkD9LwDBWW0&feature=pyv&ad=7237549087&kw=exercise The Ups and Downs is the very first exercise he does. They may be modified by simply starting on all 4's and then standing up quickly and returning to this position to all 4's. This is a…
  • I had the same problem yesterday logging. I went there for lunch and ended up going with one of the carb smart options. I personally think it's crap that they don't provide their nutritional information. Maybe if enough MFPers flood their customer service with requests, they will publish it? Just a thought.
  • You have done a terrific job during this journey. You should be very proud of yourself for all that you've accomplished! Congrats, and keep up the good work!!!
  • Week One Team Challenges AUGUST CHALLENGE WEEK 1 This is the week one team challenge. This should be done in addition to your normal workout routine. This is a challenge and is not a replacement! If you need a beginner workout please contact me for ideas. Week One DAILY Exercise Challenge Each team member that completes…
  • Thanks Gary for everything you've done thus far!
  • Welp, my name is Tammy. I'm a 32 year old mom of 3. My hubby's shifts vary so my schedule does at home too. That makes late night cravings very difficult, especially when he's on seconds and I try to wait up for him to get home. I gained most of my weight AFTER my all of my pregnancies. I emphasize after because the most I…
  • Does your subject mean 400 cal deficit from exercise cals, or daily cals?
  • Can everyone please message me their August weight loss goals? Thanks so much!!!
  • It's official. We're Red Hot Arsenal!!!!! Let's show 'em how it's done. Also, pounds will be due to me every Sunday night. Please message them to me. Also, Gary said there will be "bonus" challenges too every week.
  • Here's a few ideas. I do like the Red Hot Chili Peppers. *Unleashed Arsenal *Arsenal Unleashed *Red Hot Arsenal Thoughts?????
  • Your BMI should be taken into consideration as well. I believe, and correct me if I'm wrong, but the higher your BMI, the more calories you burn. I ran yesterday for 3 miles (35 minutes) which was a slow run for me, but I took my puppy for the first time and I burned 381 cals. I think the norm for me is roughly 125 cals…

  • I'm in. Just sent a friend request too :o)
  • Let them heal before you start running again. In the meantime, get a good pair of running shoes. I used to suffer from them daily after running. I found a pair of Asics that I really liked. I've been running for 2 years now splint free. I don't know if it's due to the shoes, weight loss, building up the muscle around my…
  • Check out this site - http://www.webmd.com/fitness-exercise/healthtool-target-heart-rate-calculator If you are loosing weight, you are on the right track. Are you using a HRM? Just wondering how you are tracking calories burned and your heart rate. Feel free to add me :o)
  • Congrats on the 5k. One thing you can do to help build up the muscle around your shins, is to walk up stairs backwards. It really helps. Also, finding the right shoes will help tremendously too. I too am prone to them, but have been running for almost 2 years now, and with the correct shoes and walking the stairs backwards…
  • Which one are you looking at, or are you just looking to create one? I'm in one that ends at the end of May. I'd definitely be interested.
  • Chocolate is really yummy even by itself. But great blended w/ Peanut Butter if you are needing extra cals for the day. Greenberry...not so great by itself, but mixed with 4 oz. oj and 8 oz water it's pretty tasty.

  • Hoarders is what they are and greedy. I am a major couponer, but my rule of thumb is this, if I have more than a years supply of something in my pantry, I start donating to our local shelter.
  • Here's a great article about it. To be honest, I believe it should be used as a last resort. Just like any extreme diet, you are more prone to put the weight back on and then some. Plus, doing this diet, you will hardly have the energy to function, let alone workout.…

  • Hearing people eat. Ugh chew with your mouth closed. Snoring and when someones nose is whistling. Actually, I can't stand hearing people breathe all together. LOL!

  • You should have rec'd 3 pieces. The chest strap, sensor (snap thingy on the chest strap), and the watch. If not, you need to call Polar cause your order had to have been mis-packed/mis-shipped.
  • What's your water intake/sodium look like? Personally, I don't think you are eating enough calories. Especially if you're eating no more than 1200 calories. I ran into this and as soon as I upped my calories to around 1300 and was drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day, the weight started coming off. Also, try drinking…
