That's great! I stalled in weight loss when I started running too....but since have increased my caloric intake per day, have been running more, and weight's starting to drop again. More significantly though, is the change in my body. It's pretty dramatic (for the better). Yours will begin adjusting too. :)

AWESOME job!!! Congratulations on your super win!!! :) :)

So awesome to have all you guys starting up!! This is the most awesome program :). Tomorrow morning ill start Week 9......and when I first began in late August, I couldn't run the 60 seconds without feeling like I was going to die! Now....3 mile stretches non-stop are common. If 'I' can do this, anyone can!! You all rock!!!

Hiya :). Congratulations on starting the journey!! Not sure why your feet would hurt so much. Do you stretch before running/walking? That may be the ticket..... I know that my knees and ankles hurt a lot less now that I've lost a bit of weight, so maybe that is a factor too. Talk to your doc about it if you can. The main…

Hi there :) Welcome! I'm sure you'll get a variety of opinions, but I for one feel that 1200 calories a day is way too little. To lose one pound of weight, you need to burn/reduce 3500 calories. Don't know how tall you are, or how much you weigh...I'm 5'10" and now weigh 220lbs. My goal, is to lose 1/2 pound per week. I…

Awesome Nico!! I didn't run for a few days (due to hurricane) and did Week8D3 this morning. It was a struggle...but I finished. Slower than usual, but finished. I'm now dreading to face Week 9!! :)

Awesome! You will do great on Friday!! Before you know it, 20 minutes will be nothing too :) Glad you're feeling better!

So happy to see this thread :) I'm gearing up for my first 5K in a few weeks. Finished Week8 of the plan today, and I'm getting slower instead of faster with each run. Granted, this morning I ran after not having run for a few days, so I imagine that had something to do with it. I've been stressing over the whole "coming…

Great exercises. Those were basically what my podiatrist had me do a few years ago. They work.

Haven't heard of that race...but may be something to look into! :)

:) I haven't tried the toothpaste yet. It occurred to me that toothpaste has fine 'grit' in it...and I don't want to risk scratching my glasses up that way. BUT, it has occurred to me, that when snorkeling, I spit on the inside of the goggles and rinse them out to prevent fogging....I 'might' try that to see if it works…

:) Feels good to be counted as "one of them" and even better when you get to be that encouraging nod, smile or greeting for someone else :)
-
Awesome!!!! Keep it up, and enjoy yourself every step of the way :)

Ditto. You need to work on those muscles that surround your knee. Here's some good ones :) http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/fitness_articles.asp?id=363

Yup, know that feeling well. So glad that you too are realizing your worth and potential. :)

That's funny!! :) Congrats on the extra run. That will be motivating for you in future runs! :)
-
Thank you!! :) And "YAY YOU" for being so close to graduation!!! I signed up for a 5K the weekend before Thanksgiving....I'm dreading it!! :)

If you decide to run w/out music, let me know how it goes. I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on the differences. :)

Keep it up Robert :)

Great advice :)

Thanks guys :) Patty - I take a multi-vitiamin, with Vitamin D.....did you take a standalone supplement? zyntx - I have read a bit on fibromyalgia, and it sure describes how I feel a lot.... I do think I may need to switch doctors, as I don't think mine takes me seriously enough when I tell her how I'm feeling. Quite…

((((Hugs))))) You're shouldering quite a load right now. I wish nothing but positive things for your mother, and if the prognosis is not positive, I wish for the easiest of path possible. As for quitting, it's different for everyone. I quit because my boyfriend (now husband) asked me to. I was going through one of the…

Woohoo! Lots of Marylanders! Baltimore here too! Congrats to all the successes going on! MFP is certainly a great place for motivation and support. Happy to have new friends if anyone wants to add. :)

Convert!! Tomorrow's Week8Day1 and I cannot wait!! I could not run 60 seconds straight without hating it 2 months ago. Now? I look forward to running and genuinely enjoy it (even when I struggle). I started to enjoy it after I completed the first 3 weeks or so and began to feel the strength in my body building up.

That's my dream/goal!!!! :) :) :)

Awesome NSV's!!!! My scale hasn't been moving much lately....but I took measurements this morning, and my waist is over 1" smaller, and I've lost 6" off my hips in the past 2.5 months! Pretty stoked.

Mine only hurt when I'm not running/walking. I am horrible about stretching and I know that's the issue. Stretching, stretching, stretching :)

You ROCK! :) :) I'm right behind you.....will be 45 in two months. WAY WAY overweight. Hadn't run a day in my life. I start Week 8 of this program on Thursday, and last week I ran 3 miles straight on two separate days! This is the woman who struggled with running 60 seconds straight just a few short months ago! :) You can…
