I did mine - 1 hour with the new 4-mile one with the power surges. I've heard some people say that they don't get a good workout from her dvd's --- ha. I sure do.

I have a lot to lose too - my ticker is just my first mini goal - feel free to add me.

If your profile was set up as 'sedentary', I'd count the round trip 1/4 miles if the total equals 30 actual minutes, so 1 mile = 30 min @2 mph. If it takes longer than that, then it's too slow and I wouldn't. If it's shorter than that, it's under my arbitrary threshhold of 30 minutes, so I wouldn't. If you are set up as…

Hi There! I know what you mean about waiting at the gym for an open machine! I've been using the new 4 mile one with the power surges. I like it, but glad I was already using one of hers for awhile because this one is more an intermediate one. If this had been my first one, I might have given up!

Hi, I'm another over 40 and need to lose 100 (a little less now, I've lost 16 since starting here in August --- and I was also a no-effort size 5 in my 20's, so I know what you mean. Feel free to add me.

I know you said you're tired of eggs, but just in case: theyummylife.com make ahead healthy egg mcmuffin copycats -- if you're lacto/ovo then just leave out the canadian bacon, It only takes a little while to make a dozen, they freeze and re-heat well, and they taste good.

Percentage helps keep it fair. If you lose 15 lbs and I lose 20 lbs, on pounds alone I win. But if you are 150 and lose 15 lbs, that's 10%, and 20 lbs for me is 10% (of 200), so we're even. But if I lose 20 lbs and you lose 16 lbs, you win because you've lost a greater percentage of your body weight.

Love bell peppers plain, likewise carrots, celery, cucumber, jicama, radish slices, romaine leaves, tomatoes, raw green beans, snap peas, really anything. I'm not opposed to hummus - in fact I love it, but I can happily eat the veggies without it. Even with salad, I hardly ever put salad dressing on it - sometimes a squirt…

I've tried the new 4Mile Power Walk video and agree with OP - 'fresh' is a good description. I can't do a couple of the moves - serious lack of coordination mainly - so I jog or do extra of the little bouncy/jumpy move instead. (And I know this isn't very nice, but the cast in this dvd is far less distracting/annoying than…

Congratulations --- for 18 pounds gone, yay! ---for under 300, yay! And yay, in advance, for hitting 50 pounds gone - you can do it!

I log it as low impact aerobics.

There is no one right way. Some people never weigh, going by measurements and visuals instead; others weight several times a day; some weigh every day, 1x a week, or every 2 weeks, or 1x a month. Some weigh before a workout at the gym, some weigh before bed. For me, it works best if I have an official weigh in once a week…

Ok, I don't hunt but my husband does and I don't play hockey but my boys do - so feel free to add me if you'd like.

Welcome! You CAN do this, and there are lots of people here to support you. Feel free to add me as a friend

"They wouldn't have to work out as long if they turned the machine up to a rate higher than cruisin and perusin speed. So it would help them, wouldn't it. Since their workout is so boring the need a book to pass the time they could turn the intensity up and get out of the big dull gym that much quicker." "I would recommend…

30 miles since my last post here --- I've hit 50 miles and I'm still walking!! I've missed a few days because of circumstances and ----this from the person who walked a total of 4 times in August!!----I really miss it when I can't get my walk in now!! Thank you so much for starting this challenge!

They showed it in my son's high school health class --- it required parental permission! --- and that one movie broke him of his fast food habit. As a family, we never did do much fast food, but with his friends he would eat it a lot, and now he doesn't. Yay!

Fresh Applesauce 1/3 c unsweetened apple juice (freshly juiced works great) 3/4 lb apples, peeled and quartered 1 T honey (more or less, depends on individual preference) 1/4 t cinnamon (more or less, depends on individual preference) Put it all in a blender, whirl away until consistency you like. Super smooth, really…

Speaking only for my house and my husband - if there is anything he truly doesn't like, I don't make it for him. But his resistance to eating healthier that had no basis? Yeah, not so much. And for him - he's lost 35 lbs and 3 pants sizes and his blood pressure is back in the healthy range, as are his various sugar…

I found that if I treat Mr Shiny and the teenagers like very small children (ok, I'll say it - like cranky babies) and hide the nutrition I can get in a lot of healthy stuff. Once they have had something a few times, I'll let them know and I get alot of "wow I never thought I would like (whatever)". For whole grains - if…

Exactly.

And don't forget, when you're calling out poor people for having access to junk food ---- it's the big corporations (you know, the ones that actually make the junk) it's those corporations that are spending millions lobbying to keep their junk food eligible for purchase with SNAP.

I'm not there yet, but this one is a huge motivation for me. (edited because movitation isn't really a word)

Nasty stuff - nothing makes it taste better as far as I'm concerned. There's too many things I actually enjoy to waste my time (or calories) on something I hate. My advice? If you don't like cottage cheese, don't eat cottage cheese.
