  • I am doing a similar program to C25K through my local running store. We have group runs twice a week and I am always in the back of the pack at my 18 min mile pace. The coaches and mentors keep saying slow down. You are only going to do yourself harm if you go too fast No one is judging you but you. Its not a contest. Its…
  • Feel free to add me. I am about 1/3 of the way to my goal. Still have over 100 pounds to lose. My one, probably most important, piece of advice. Weight everything you eat. Even liquids if you can. Measuring cups can be evil in that they most of the time are incorrect. There is a you tube video about it. The little extra…
  • You BARELY eat 1100 calories when your goal is over 1600 without figuring in your exercise. I would say you are not eating enough and with the solid workouts you appear to be doing you are going to do yourself harm. You may not think so but eventually you will. You need to take regular days off fro exercise. You have…
  • Everyone has great input here. I totally agree with ndj1979. You are very lucky to have such a wonderful wife. I am going to guess that she does all the shopping and cooking. Have you shared with her your desire to regain your health? work together to find some healthy recipes and meal ideas and plan them together. Yes,…
  • Tia- a great way to eat that does not require lots of time is using a slow cooker. You can make some really awesome meals in them. If you are on FB check out Crock Pot Girl and Crock Pot Ladies. There are some really healthy and tasty recipes on there. They also have links to their websites. Prep wise - try to do as much…
  • My sister just had a hip replacement today so I will be supervising her all day to make sure she follows orders and doesn't fall down the stairs on her crutches!!!! Oh, and probably shoveling snow.
  • When I lived in Massachusetts I found a sodium free (either Daisy or Crowley I believe) and it was TERRIBLE. So I bought one sodium free and one 2% or 4% and mixed 50/50. That was perfect for me. Since being back in western NY I have not found any sodium free.
  • check out the produce section of your store. there is a new item called 'steamables' I believe they are different types of potatoes wrapped and ready to go in the microwave. takes about 8 minutes
  • Wen TOTALLY! But if you do not do it right it will make your hair look worse. I love the weekly deep treatment and the oils. If you shop with QVC they have it and I would get it from there as they have great deals. I haven't ordered through the infomercial but a lot of them are connected to auto shipments and people have…
  • I just bought my first pair of running shoes and they are a 91/2 mens (same as 10 in womens). I used to buy 10 1/2 wide mens and rarely could buy womens. The new are still a wide width but I have a long way to go still. I have lots of dress shoes I need to try on and sadly probably get rid of. But my closet could use a…
  • Sent you a FR. Anyone needing support feel free to ad me. I am on track to lose 97.5 pounds this year. Not quite to goal but under 200 for the first time as an adult
  • Funny, I guess I am so old I knew what you were talking about before even clicking on your post. Who hasn't heard of Aunt Flo?? And not the waitress from the tv show "Alice". I can't help you much with your problem as I don't get cravings. At least not that they are recognized as such. I eat all the things you mentioned on…
  • that's awesome. I am a bit jealous!! I will be starting c25k soon myself.
  • I didn't read this but did see this. He also walked about 45 min every day and I believe did another form of exercise. So he made good food choices and exercised the recommended 30 minutes or more a day. Good for him
  • Love your post. Glad you are focused and you have reasonable goals I too am German, A Libra (October 1) and lost my father at a much too early age. Lung Cancer from almost 60 years of smoking. He quit less than a year before being diagnosed. Thankfully he had a concerned neighbor who called 911. If he had not they said he…
  • I'm in the second half of my 40s and have quite a bit more to lose than you do. I have on my bucket list for 2014 to start running and do 2 or more 5Ks. Feel free to add me.
  • Mine is a simple one. After getting off track in late March, I got myself back on track in late September. Now ready for a whole list of stuff ( like the others are posting) to happen in 2014. I'm not getting sidetracked again.
  • I gave up trying to buy jeans in a store a long time ago. I have similar issue as I carry my weight in my hips. Within the past year I found jeans that fit every curve of me from QVC. Most recently they had 'comfy' jeans. Not denim material like jeans but the blue have the look of denim. Have some stretch to them so that…
  • I just moved back to the east side of Rochester after being out of state for 18 years. Learning all the new places, especially the parks. Some things have changed a lot where others hardly changed at all.
  • Welcome back. Like you I have been here since August 2012. Lost 60 and then life happened and I regained half. I am back on track now for a couple months. I am about a decade older with a little more weight than you to lost but if that's ok feel free to add me.
  • Drs love to leave that stuff to the staff Make an appt with the clinics Dietitian. He/she can explain it all very well I am sure Oh and ask about home dialysis (peritoneal and home hemo). Your grandmother will need to be educated on it within 90 days. If there is any possibility of her doing one of these two programs the…
  • You've done great. Congrats Question though, why are you not measuring your waist where is normally is? You might have better results.
  • The dialysis diet is the worst diet ever!!!!! Extremely limited potassium, phosphorous, increased calcium but not by adding any of the prior two. List of do not eat which you or your grandmother should have gotten: bananas, orange juice, milk, ANYTHING with phosphorous in the ingredient list (if you do not already read…
  • I'd have been afraid to make any negative comments for fear of what you might do. And I thought this only happened to overweight women not extremely fit men. I'd stay and show them up when you can easily do more than them soon
  • Sorry Christine but I agree with this. And I know multiple people who are extremely healthy and do not eat clean. They eat whatever they want, mostly in moderation, and they work out.
  • TOTALLY agree with the Talenti sea salt caramel. Funny, I never noticed the caramel pieces. But this is awesome and less calories than ice cream. BJs sells it in a big container at a reasonable price.
