  • What's the last full season you watched out of curiosity? I have watched them all and I can tell you if you got out before it got too crazy .[/quote] I have watched every season in full other than the couple in 2011 and 2012. Chris Soules was the best bachelor in many many years. That one before him ended up being a…
  • OK, so I wasn't going to reply since you stopped this thread but now I am going to. I'm glad you think I am 'viciously' wrong. We all have our own opinions. Too bad you don't accept those that are not your own. And I must say you really entertained me with that video.
  • I'm not really doing low carb but aiming for much lower than in the past. Mine is at 30%. But I vary it day to day. I try to have two days at higher carbs (about 150-170g of 1700 calories and two days of under 100g. Then the other four I try to keep just over 100. The variety helps me in my weight loss. So if you get stuck…
  • I disagree. They gave Brit too much exposure by even giving her a chance to be the Bachelorette. I think we need to see more of that drunk guy from night one. He was rather entertaining. He had to have been really bad if Chris Harrison had to tell him to leave. And funny they guy I think called him Chris Hanson. Why is it…
  • Try inserts in your shoes. The flimsy things that come in good walking/running shoes do nothing to support your feet/knees. Find a good running store like Fleet Feet and get some superfeet inserts Also, do some strength training to help build up the muscles supporting your knees. We only have 4 main ligaments to support…
  • I've been looking at the spoilers the last few seasons as they have been very lame in my opinion. By knowing the spoilers it makes it more interesting to see if they got it right. I'm a bit tardy with this season and have just watched episode one on hulu. I was not impressed with either girl. Why can't they choose a non…
  • I disagree with this. I know multiple people who 'purposely' walk marathons and half marathons. Many have progressed to running but some stick with walking. They do average 15 min miles, some are even faster. So it is possible
  • I'll try to send some others but my current favorite is very simply made in the crock pot. It's a recipe someone else on mfp suggested. chicken - thighs or breasts but I use a combination of the two. 6-8 pieces one can of corn one can of black beans drained - I like to add a second and I use the reduced sodium ones top w a…
  • crock pot meals. you can use cheaper cuts of meat since they cook longer. And most recipes make enough for 6-8 servings so you could get two meals out of it depending on the age of your children.
  • I agree with the slow cooker idea. You can purchase cheaper cuts of meat and add veggies and have food for many days. And you don't need to be a great cook to use it. I also suggest soups with lots of veggies and protein. Freezes very well Look to see if you have farmers markets around you. Many times you get better priced…
  •
  • If you can, try running outdoors at least once a week. Running on a treadmill is not so great for your joints. Sidewalks are not ideal either but it can be better. Or run on a road but remember to run against traffic so you can see cars coming. And If you listen to music when you run only use one ear when you are on the…
  • I've learned to take it as it is. A day or two or three of bad choices and restated my reasons for being here The good thing is you must have tracked what you ate to know it was such a large number. That's a good thing and to me a sign you are still motivated I think when it comes to weighing tomorrow you should take some…
  • this sounds awesome I have only sawed it in half and baked in a little olive oil. then season with pepper and eat as a side But as the post above says the shell is extremely hard. Be careful when you try to cut it that you don't cut yourself. You don't want another kind of red sauce on your yummy veggie
  • Your BMR is roughly 1310 so you don't want to eat less than that With the online calculator I use at a sedentary activity level to get to 114 pounds (hence your ticker goal) you would eat 1556. And 1783 at lightly active. This includes your exercise burns and is a goal to help you lose those 3 pounds So if this were me I…
  • I second that. Very impressive
  • I started running in January through a local running store. When we did the 5k in late April I was at 50 minutes for 3.1 miles at 285 pounds. Most races in the months following were between 50 and 53 min. (roughly 17mm) I am in my second session with the running store and most days I am averaging between 15:30 and 16mm at…
  • I'm a newbie runner this year but I bet I can find info I need to know here. Will read later but thanks for taking the time to post this
  • I've gotten some online at Kohls. I like the Tek gear brand. Some are more close fitting then others but I find they fit well.
  • you look great and I am totally impressed with your running pace improvement. Gives me hope mine will someday get there. Keep up the great work
  • I, like you, are a newer runner but my two cents is that you went too long into your run to eat anything, I recently went to a class held at my running store and it was advised to have a pre run carb/protein snack and then take in electrolytes at 45 minutes and then every 30-45 minutes after until you stop running. You may…
  • I am very sorry for your loss 14 years ago I almost lost my father due to cancer. He was living in Arkansas and I in Maryland. We were close and I thank God every day for the neighbor who called 911 when he thought something wasn't right and for the 11 months my Dad got to live with me fighting his cancer every day. I…
  • I love my new balance. Have 2 pair- most recent being the 860s. The new 880 is coming out next week if not sooner. I also like Asics. Saucony are so good for me. I also have one pair of Brooks and they are just ok I slightly pronate but nothing too terrible. But I still prefer a stability shoe
  • I could never eat just 2 tbsp. I eat ice cream/gelato on a regular basis. The one thing I will never live without so I'm not cutting it out now as long as it fits in my macros. To answer the OPs question, I have never noticed this benefit as you called it.
  • I'm in and sharing with a few friends
  • And what is that, 500 calories a day? I am surprised you have the energy to do 4 hours of workouts on that calorie intake I know you are on your last 10 pounds but are you planning on eating like this for the rest of your life? If not, you need to increase your food intake, accept the weight gain that will follow and then…
  • I disagree. If your BMR is 1500+ she should not eat 1300. You need to NET at least your BMR My opinion 1. eat 1600 plus half your exercise calories. 2. use a food scale for nearly everything. Cups hold more than what a serving size in grams says. (example if a serving size of ice cream is 1 cup/100 g you can end up with…
