We used to eat tongue all the time when I was a kid. Would boil the hell out of it and the heart, then strip them down and cut into chunks and simmer it all in a vinegary brown or mushroom gravy, then serve with mashed potatoes. omnomnomnom!

Seriously??? I really hope your sarcasm font is busted, because I'm 5'6" and weight 195# and I could squat 175# *kitten* to grass maybe the second time I ever put a bar on my back. It's nowhere close to my max, I just stopped adding plates because I wasn't confident in the safety of the lift given my experience level.…

green beans are paleo, they have a big pod. Peas are not if they are shelled. If you eat them in the pod it's better, but they are sketchy. No soy in any shape or form (this means no edamame). Corn is not paleo. Some think white potatoes are not, others say they are fine (along with sweet potatoes). Fruits are pretty much…

I'll be stealing this, thanks.

Get a new Dr. and go paleo.

Your estimated TDEE includes your activity level, which is quite high with all the exercise you are doing. If you were sitting on your *kitten* all day, you would likely be closer to 18-1900 calories. When you eat in this fashion, you don't have to think about exercise calorie eating, you just about the same amount every…
-
How about you just eat the 2300 cal a day you should be eating, and not worry about the exercise calories. You are active enough to be eating at TDEE, and don't have that much weight to lose. Your body is probably just pissed at you for trying to kill it. That much exercise will create the deficit on it's own, and you will…

I was at a new Dr's office last week and the nurse handed me a list of medical issues to read through and tell her what from the list had I been previously diagnosed with, so I read her back "obesity" from the list and she looked at me and said "seriously?" So I guess I'm not still as fat as I feel like I am. I'm a big…

You don't have enough weight to lose to eat that far under TDEE. Try TDEE minus 10%, and you will prolly get back on track.
-
I'd rather lose 1-3 pounds a month eating 1800-2100 calories a day of healthy stuff.
-
If it's that bad, I just eat it, no worries. If it's been 6 months, big deal. Some people do that every weekend and don't have any issues. The wold will not end if you go over your arbitrarily set calorie number one time in 6 months.

Low sensitivity = bad High sensitivity = good If your body isn't sensitive to insulin, it can't use glucose. like this: Glucose gets into a cell because of the presence of insulin. If the cell doesn't detect the insulin (isn't sensitive), it doesn't know the glucose is there, and can't use it. Then all the glucose floats…

I am week 11 post-op. I had the MRI to diagnose the tear, and then I had to wait a month to see the surgeon, but I continued with my usual workouts. When I saw teh surgeon, he told me he could get me pain free with physical therapy, but I had malformations in my clavicles that would cause it to keep happening, so I went…

No, nothing since that first one, if indeed it was even a gallbladder attack. I would cut out anything that you feel like makes you feel symptomatic, obviously, but otherwise eat to your goals. Even if you end up having it removed, you should be able to eat whatever you want. If the gastroenterologist says I can eat as…

I had an attack a few months ago ( they think). I was put on a high carb, no fat diet until my liver values went back to normal. It sucked, except I got to go nuts eating stuff I cut out of my diet because I would binge on it. Since everything went back to normal, I have been working to get back under control, and have…

I don't because I am poor. If I could afford it, hell yes, and then I would also make more stocks and broths. There is less benefit to making that stuff if you are using stuff with inappropriate ratios. I also eat lots of fruit.

Fry some bacon to crispy. Slice sprouts in half. Remove bacon from pan. Throw sprouts in pan of bacon grease for 6 minutes. flip cook for 4-5 more minutes. Remove from pan. Add balsamic vinegar and Salt and pepper to taste. crumble bacon on top eat

I find that when I make food ahead, and also put it in my diary ahead of time, I make my goals more consistently. That doesn't make me do it more often, though... But when I do plan ahead, I leave a bit of wiggle room in there for snacks. That way it's not inflexible.

I don't give a damn if I look 4 inches shorter, strong legs are the bomb!

To be honest, the best way to transition to paleo is to not bother to count ANYTHING, just learn how to feed yourself properly and not worry about anything else. You need to learn to listen to the signals your body gives you regarding hunger and satiety. It's very difficult to do that when you are paranoid about macros and…
-
I eat primal (for a year and a half) and I have no trouble reaching my macros, and eating enough. I's not hard to eat even 200 g carbs a day, which is a good thing to do nights before your workouts, and cut back to half that or a little more on the days you work out, depending on you goals. it is possible to be paleo and…

you're still undereating. You should still be at a deficit if you eat even 1800 per day. Up your calories, you'll feel better, and your body will be a lot happier and then you will be able to drop the weight. You don't have tons to lose, so that big a deficit will just piss your body off and make you hold onto that last…

yup. Mine went up 7 pounds in 2 weeks from 1600 to 1900 calories per day, though I should be in maintenance at 2100. Riding it out for a couple more weeks. only difference in activity level is that I am doing the 30 day squat challenge, but i doubt that would be enough for me to hold on to that much water in my muscles, or…

If you have a university in your area, they might have a BodPod. There are other places that have them, too. They are pretty easy to use and give lots of information on body composition and metabolic rates. I think some Lifetime Fitness locations can do the testing as well. I would Google BodPod + your zip code.

Right, because there was no way in hell the 1/2 rack of dry rub ribs I had at Chilis yesterday was 570c. maybe 350, if I want to be generous. the amount of meat you get varies wildly.

Always workout barefoot if it's safe to do so. Your feet actually get to do what they were made to do when they are uncovered. Great opportunity to strengthen the muscles and tendons of your feet and calves.
-
Dude, go to the doctor! You could have some serious nerve damage if that's left unchecked. Possibly something even worse.
-
or just eat the whole egg. it's actually good for you.

You should still torch some fat at a slight deficit, but you shouldn't pack on muscle. That does not mean you won't get stronger, you will, just not add lots of muscle like somebody who was bulking might.
