Sweet! Congrats!

You look mahveous!

I forgot to mention, sweeten to taste with whatever you prefer but count those calories because I used Splenda so sweetener calories are not included in my totals.

Looks great! Just printed it. I'm going to pick up the stuff at the grocery store and make it this week.

I am so sorry. My dad died several years ago in January. I feel like I sat on the couch in a pair of fleece pants and ate constantly all winter. But, you're already on the site and doing the work and you know your dad wants that for you. Try to stock up on lowfat cheese, Greek yogurt, precut veggies, almond coconut milk,…

Awesome! You go girl! Way back when I was a size 5 or 7, I loved shopping. For years now, I've hated it. I only buy clothes when I have no other choice. I'm the kind of woman who can't understand why other woman have dozens of pairs of shoes and buy a half dozen pairs in the same color. But...since I've lost a few pounds,…

WOW! Congratulations!

You are such an inspiration! I've been doing well but today I've been having those, "I'll never get there," thoughts. I needed your success story! Thanks!

I posted a similar thread a few weeks ago and people told me fruit sugar counts as sugar. However, if you aren't having blood sugar issues, then I would continue to eat fruit with no worries. I was prediabetic and about to enter the diabetic category so I'm trying to monitor my sugar and keep it under. If I skip fruits,…

I had to add low-fat cheese to meet my calcium goals. I eat the Mini Babybel lights for 50 calories and also Frigo Light Cheese Sticks for 50 calories each. Both of those are a good little snack or meal addition and they each give me 20% of my calcium per day. Regular cheese (not low fat) is very high in calories so I…

Reading the replies to your excellent question, I'm realizing there are a LOT of non-drinkers on this site. Anyway, I save calories every day to drink a couple of glasses of wine each night. Then there are times, i.e. my girlfriend getaway weekend, when I figured, WTF, it's twice a year, enjoy it. So I counted my food…

100 calorie bag of microwave popcorn is my go to snack. I've also been eating Laughing Cow Mini-Babybel Lights lately to up my calcium intake.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean but I search for something and use my best judgement on what to select from whatever pops up. With multi-ingredient dishes (especially restaurant food), I try to guesstimate how much of what different things are in them and search that. At home, I know what brand and I weigh and measure…

You must be joking.

And another thing, I'm trying to get all my nutrients through real food like God intended. Protein powders are not found in nature. Just sayin'...

I get too much protein trying to meet my calcium goals. So, I did some research and found this article: https://www.msu.edu/~corcora5/food/vegan/calcium+protein.html I recently watched the documentary Fork Over Knife which also discussed studies proving that people who eat less animal protein are healthier. I'm personally…
-
I'm not really worried but I saw Fork Over Knife recently and, according to studies cited in that documentary, we have less health problems if we get less protein from animal sources. Plus, I just don't get how they come up with these goals which seem so conflicting.
-
I should have been more clear. In order to meet my calcium goals, I am eating too much protein. There's no way I can meet my calcium goals with leafy greens. I find I need low-fat cheese, non-fat milk, and yogurt. And that throws me way over on protein.

I heard that story too and was just telling my husband about it. Face it, if you are what you eat, those cows are going to lack the nutrition that cows should have if they are eating what cows should eat. I don't care if local meat does cost more, we're going to quit buying grocery store meats.

Sounds delicious. Thanks!

Old fashioned oatmeal microwaved for 3 minutes at 60% power level. Then I mix in a few craisins and a tablespoon of sliced almonds. You can also chop up an apple into the raw oatmeal and cook it along with the oatmeal. Greek yogurt and 1 tbsp of Smuckers Simply Fruit strawberry without seeds mixed in. 1 egg scrambled and 2…

I'm losing 2 lbs a week even though I'm only shooting to lose 1 lb a week. I'm not complaining!
-
My doctor recommends it. My mom's doctor also does.

I'm not diabetic but I have been pre-diabetic. I've only eaten 1/6 cup of craisins and 1/2 cup pineapple plus 2 slices of whole wheat bread and my sugar goal has been exceeded for the day. But I'm not really sure what the goal numbers represent so I posed that as a separate question. I mean, that is not a lot of fruit. I'm…

I bought some plain Greek yogurt this week and mixed in a little Simply Fruit and it was delish! The fruit or flavored kind are so high in sugar. Simply Fruit adds sugar, of course, but not nearly as much. It made an awesome low-cal grab and go breakfast.

I've only lost 8 lbs so far (50 to go) but I had 2 NSVs today. I have a blazer that I've been wearing into work and doing the Mr. Rogers thing, shedding the tight jacket and changing into a stretchy comfy sweater as soon as I got there. Today the jacket was so comfortable I didn't even think to take it off. My other NSV…

I log breakfast and lunch as I go, then prelog dinner as a planning tool. If I see I'm going over, I modify my plans. It's also helpful to prelog to plan menu choices at restaurants.

It seems best to check the websites beforehand and plan it into your calorie budget.
