  • I lost weight on weight watchers, used my blog on MFP to count points. I was afraid to try to totally rely on MFP when weight watchers worked so well for me. However, I don't think I was getting adequate nutrition on weight watchers previous points system and don't want to try points plus, so here I am. Seems like people…
  • When itcomes to staying with a mate or striking off on your own, you gotta b honest with yourself first and then choose.wherever u go you will still b yo, no matter who u r with.
  • I have a similar yetdifferent problem. My guy can b super supportive one day and then a jerk the next. Its not usually about me but sometimes its hard not to take personally. I know i havechoice to deal with my feelings intelligently or walow but eff its hard sometimes. Dangit.
  • I loved reading your story. Keep it up, no matter what; your family and MFP is lucky to have a wonderful person like you. Thanks for sharing, and I look forward to reading more!
  • Lost 43 pounds so far, 3-5 pounds from goal. 17 pounds is totally doable and you will feel great once it's off! Good luck to you and best health!
  • p.s. for people on a weight control blog, might consider not being so judgmental of difficulty with portion control. some of these posts have a mean tone.
  • sounds ok, recently read a post about vegan diets being entirely cholesterol and trans-fat free (not that you're going vegan, but in terms of cutting red meat - it just made me think about some words of wisdom from my nutrition professor: Every time you cut out an entire type of food, you have to think about what you'll be…
  • I should probably add that since November 4, 2011 I have lost 41 pounds.

  • I use the old WW system and have a working knowledge of nutrition. I recommend a hybrid approach because you can become nutrient deficient using only weight watcher's point (previous program - no experience with current points plus system). I try to make sure I get enough (but not too much) protein, calcium, and vitamins…
  • oh! about that last bit, it sounds like you could use a little reminder that there are ebbs and flows in the way we lose weight. For me, I started tracking my weight EVERY SINGLE DAY. Some people say, oh don't do that it's gonna make you crazy. For me, it helped me give my perspective a reality check. I will tell you what,…
  • 1. Gotta commit to doing the work - making meals, planning, cutting down on eating out 2. drinking ALWAYS increases calories in two ways: making it easier to eat extra out at the club and then you feel crappy for a day or two so you feel like eating certain stuff that seems to make you feel better. I could go into the…
  • @Jeannie, how can you have a psalm in your signature with a joke like that?! hahaha anyways, ok, my joke is...lifted from the following site: http://www.ahajokes.com/p007.html A group of psychiatrists were attending a convention. Four of them decided to leave, and walked out together. One said to the other three, "People…
  • I totally feel you on that! I have lots of plans this weekend and it's going to be hard. So, I have decided in advance what to eat and where and how much. I feel really good about it. Let them see you eat a couple chocolate easter eggs, or just eat in front of them. If they give you The Look, just call them on it. Say, am…
  • rock on! as for me, TOM is best time to work out, always do my best for some reason - so strange!
  • peel and smash (with the flat of a knife) a large clove of garlic. throw garlic, 2 c rice and 4 c 99% fat free chicken broth in a large pot. cook until done, dice a small roma tomato, half a red pepper, 1/4c canned tomato sauce, salt and pepper to taste, add to rice, stir, simmer. Done!
  • absolutely. I think this is a great show and please don't be hurt that your husband doesn't understand. I'm sure there's a reason more women have these troubles than men, and for one thing I think it's how we handle stress. Women tend to rely on social networking more and use their sympathetic nervous system, whereas men…
  • You are amazing! Excellent, excellent job. Your strength and courage and honesty are so inspirational. Weight loss is daunting and not just the task itself but the transformation of your body, your constant you know? Great job!
  • about looking vs. feeling big, I totally get that. i saw a report once that people who are overweight often misjudge the way they look and think they are thinner than they are, on the other hand it also takes so much time getting used to getting smaller, lemme tell ya. There some comfort in being bigger and it's an…
  • Yes, and I watched a sleep study that shows even a little loss of sleep by not sleeping deeply through the night or for enough hours leads to almost pre-diabetic blood sugar levels the morning after, which can make weight management so much harder.
  • I find breathing exercises helpful. I know it sounds like the opposite of what you want to do when you're stressed out, but that is because of the pathophysiology of anxiety. Say you want a box of cookies or a meaty sandwich or some salt and vinegar chips because you're studying so hard or running around so much with tasks…
  • way to go! I know you can do it. I've just broken through my plateau and you can as well. Good luck and you have my support for sure!

  • oh, just do it! then you can say, see, I did it. didn't mean anything. Or, go for a walk instead. after a few minutes or so you will not even care about the scale, it will make you feel much better.
  • cube, mix with 98%fat free cream of mushroom soup, diced celery, onion, frozen peas, reheat and serve on a split reduced fat biscuit.
  • I agree, I find this site more supportive. but because WW has worked so well for me in the past, I can't give it up. I do points but log in here.
  • I would check with my doctor if I were you because that jitteriness doesn't sound like regular ole 3pm munchies to me.
  • My first month I lost a lot of weight. My second month I lost a lot less weight, but I was doing the same thing! So i was super frustrated, but you know what? that's the way it goes. you lose a lot of weight at first, and then you lose more subsequently over more time. Then I hit a plateau and for two weeks I was stuck,…
