ooh! good point, it's been 17 days. You know, when I work out all hardcore and don't reward myself at all with a little something I love to eat, I feel like crap! Like I said, calories out > calories in and you're losing weight, so you can have the goodies every once in awhile, especially after working out 6 days a week.…

YAY! :D

you know what, something similar happened to someone I know really well. It's so hard when you do EVERYTHING right and it just doesn't seem to work. Don't give up, this stuff takes time. when you are on medications that alter your chemistry everything from you mood to your weight are completely at odds not just when you're…

oh, and The Band Perry "if I die young" it's not exactly upbeat but such a beautiful beautiful song and sweet!

Tip #3 and try to stick to the recommended daily allowance of calories, which is suggested by MFP for your activity level. Don't cheat, or you will cheat your metabolism. Tip #4 get a maintenance plan for when you reach goal weight That's it!, really, I swear! Good job on your weight loss to date!

nice to meet you! you and I have the same goal. I'm graduating in June and hope to weigh same as you :) the tips? Just log everything you eat, even and especially when you "mess up" and make sure you get your recommended amount of exercise. that's it! you can add me if you want!

walking is fine :) I heart walking!

you don't feel skinny? skinny isn't a feeling! but you know, I've been looking at people's screenames or other identifying themes (i.e. caricatures in their photo) and comparing their self-professed identities with their stated outlooks and I gotta say, the people who call themselves fat or cupcakeeater tend to not come in…

it's also interesting as a social study, totally controversial, you know.

Im same as spacecase/dancer! haha good topic...nothing like a gr8 pair of abercrombie jeans to remind me why im doing this again! sorry, but for me, vanity is a totally motivating if superfluous character trait :)

I was in the same boat until recently with my husband. then I realized, just because he's thin doesn't mean his arteries aren't hardening! He can eat more calories, so larger portions, of what you eat :)
-
ooh! Another thing! I come across it lots in the forums: who are these friends we have to lie to about our choices? Gosh, I get so annoyed by the people in our lives who do not support our positive changes. Comments/stories?

I like the spritzer idea! I'm totally opposite though! Right now I'm trying to incorporate a glass of wine a couple nights a week but can't seem to discipline myself to waste/spare the calories for it. My husband has a jack and diet coke a few nights a week, and I wanna have happy hour with him, but I just haven't done it…

my friend introduced me to MFP and I was already doing weight watchers. I started 11/4 and now I'm in my 11th week. I started at 167 and am now at 145. first week was the best, but after that pretty consistent I think.

also, see who the manufacturer is and go to their web site and see if you can't find some better instructions/routines from there.

don't spend the whole time seated, do some "hills" by increasing tension and try to remain seated through those, then loosen it up and try some fast flat but try to keep your butt off the seat, keep your tummy tight, and always try to keep your rpms around 80, or whatever keeps your heartrate in the goal zone. Spinning is…

yay! (currently in my double-decker, underwired, just shy of lifts and pulleys contraption)

Chili! there's a lot of healthy ways to make chili and even some canned stuff isn't that high in calories. As far as dips, hungry girl has a great 7 layer dip on hungry-girl.com and baked not fried tortilla chips. Also 98% fat free hot dogs, lower calorie buns, use non fat greek yogurt instead of sour cream, totally yummy.…

I would compare the settings to what registered dietitians accept as health guidelines are (http://www.eatright.org) and stick to those. too much protein can be bad for your kidneys. I've read that 0.8g/kg bodyweight is a good rule of thumb.
-
glad to read that today! yes, so true! I'm on the right path, I know it, just because I'm not there yet doesn't mean I'm doing anything wrong.

added benefit of drinking nonfat milk instead of juice is you may find yourself having less cravings for sweet fruity things because it has galactose instead of fructose/sucrose, i.e. keeps your sugar level more level.
-
oh! and I don't drink fruit juices, because they are high in sugar and low in nutrients. still a better option than soda any day of the week. I do (infrequently) get unsweetened cranberry juice and it's like $8.99, comes in a glass jar. drink nonfat milk instead of juice.
-
well, for me, it's hard enough monitoring calories and ensuring adequate nutrient consumption in all categories, but if you have to watch sugar then start looking for no sugar added options. I would steer clear of aspartame containing substances if possible.

haha! you missed the cool weather in Southern California, it snowed in valencia. I was soo cold! its good now though.

stress...there's a netflix instant stream video called "stress the silent killer" or "stress: biography of a killer" or something like that. life is stressful, there are awful examples of times when it is more stressful and also great times when *kitten* seems to flow right by you, bypassing your little existence totally.…

"All the snacks I love tend to have carbs. ie... yogurt, pretzels, even apple sauce is high in carbs. What to do." hm...they have high fiber low calorie bread and a slice of cheese for the amount of calories in a serving of pretzels, you can have a grilled cheese. Or if you like that crunchiness and saltiness, perhaps some…

nah, just do it. you may be pleasantly surprised, I often am.

and drink a glass of water between each round or you will be sorry! especially if you've been reducing what you normally eat this week. don't go out on an empty stomach and that means eat some pretzels or bread not just veggies and dip. tips from a former bartender!

try an Americana :)
