Welcome! This site is great for motivation and support - people are lovely  Add some friends and support them too and it'll be even better for you

That's fantastic! Are you going to get rid of the dresses or keep them as a reminder? I have some really nice dresses that I fit into now and I'm kind of scared of losing too much weight... I suppose I can always buy them in a smaller size (they're goth dresses so they don't really stop making them every season) or get…

I went out on Friday and everyone commented on how lovely I looked in my dress and that you could really tell I'd lost weight
-
Haha I'm glad I'm not the only one!
-
Here's mine so far
-
Haha thanks for that - made me laugh after having a miserable night last night
-
Doh that just shows I've been doing it all wrong! I measure under my breasts... I guess it doesn't really matter too much as long as you're consistent? I'm sure I keep measuring my waist differently as it keeps going up and down by an inch lol.
-
I use Tanita scales but I take each measurement with a pinch of salt - it gives you a rough indication but as people have said it's not terribly accurate.
-
That is definitely a big deal! It shows you are on the right track
-
Haha! Kids say the silliest things. Well done on the NSV though - fantastic!

I have just started trying something new that seems to be helping. I've bought myself a journal and every time I eat something I write it down and every time I want to eat something for emotional/non-hunger reasons I write a short entry describing how I'm feeling and what I'm thinking of eating etc. Usually once I've…

This looks great! I love iced coffee but refuse to pay ridiculous prices for it in cafes so rarely have it. Definitely bookmarked!
-
Whether it's healthy or not is one thing but I just don't think I could keep that going for a long time at all... In fact I think I would be binging on chocolate within the first few days purely because I wouldn't be 'allowed' to eat it!
-
Haha I didn't before but you bet I will now!
-
Maybe it would be best to go with measurements instead/as well? They may be showing a loss even if your weight isn't
-
Fantastically done!
-
Here's mine  I think I'm about three in this one and at the playground!
-
I haven't had any comments so far - it's almost as if people are scared in case they say the wrong thing maybe? I don't know - I can tell that I look better so surely other people must be able to?
-
Lol this made me almost spit my coffee out over my keyboard! Go you for trying new things though
-
I've gone from contemplating buying a 36E because my bras just weren't fitting any more to being able to wear them on the second hook ^_^ It's great!
-
I want to watch more but my favourites so far have been Paranoia Agent, Deathnote and Fullmetal Alchemist - all awesome!
-
Thanks for all the advice and encouragement! I feel so much better already. I have rephrased my goals as I think you're right, putting a date on it is a risky strategy. I am instead going to focus on the fact that I am eating healthier and exercising more than I have in a long time and I feel so much better than I did over…

I really let the Southerners down last week so I hope this week I can do a bit better - though I've had a bit of a rough weekend so I'm not starting off well! Extra trips to the gym for me  Well done Northerners though!
-
I would say both work, as long as you are in the right frame of mind. They are just tools for weight loss and won't make you lose weight just by you joining up. You need to put in the effort to track and stay under the calorie goals MFP assigns for you. If you do, it will work.
-
Fantastic! Keeping my fingers crossed your next weigh in will be good too You can do this
-
I heard from a friend that another friend had described me as "you know, the girl with the huge stomach" That was upsetting but it did make me think.
-
Whooooo go Southern Softies! Sadly I only lost a pound this week but then that is what MFP is predicting I'll lose so I suppose that's only natural! Let's hope I do a bit better next week though
-
I had a great January - since New Year's I lost 8.4 lbs (but only 7.8 lbs on MFP as I gained some over Christmas!) so I'm well chuffed. It's been a month of eating better, feeling better and exercising way more. Let's hope Feburary is going to be just as good, not just for me but everyone else
-
I'm not exactly sure how much I pay - maybe about £30-40 per week for the two of us, so that's about £160 per month I guess? I have been drinking a lot less alcohol and pop since I've started eating healthy so that's saved a bit of money and we don't eat fast food as much so that also helps. I think you can do eating…

Wow that is a truly inspirational change! I always love hearing people's success stories and seeing their pictures - it definitely keeps me going. Anyway, well done - you must be so proud!
