I think you may be right. As most are men in the weight section and most are women on the treadmills!

The goodlife fitness that I went to had the weights in the corner of the gym and all the treadmills and elipticals in front so you got to stare at all the butts on the treadmills and elipticals.

since working out with my trainer he suggested trying Quinoa and Yams. Love both!

For me it's 2 things: Cheese and nuts, especially together! For some reason I still cannot control myself to have a bite, or a taste, or portion control. If I buy cheese the brick will be gone that day. Hopefully one day I can control the portions.

I don't own a scale. Weigh myself at the gym about every 3 months or so. They have the water/fat/weight scale so I have the trainer weigh me on that.

So happy for you! I know how he feels. I was the same but just keep at it and it does get easier. My sugars are normal now and that alone makes me very happy.

I must say it is my trainer. We have been working out for 8 months now and he has changed my thinking completely. Always motivating and teaching me new things about exercise and always giving me wonderful recipes and tips on food choices.

There is a girl at our gym who cranks the treadmill's incline and walks backward and sideways at 2mph all the while texting on her phone. Then she started doing twirls. Then she started stumbling. Everyone was watching and the guys especially as she was wearing a skirt. She did this for about 5 minutes.

I saw the same thing the other day at my gym. She was trying to hold very heavy weights and run but was stumbling and banging into the side rails on the treadmill. I was beside her and scared she was going to drop the weight on my machine! She tried for a couple minutes but couldn't balance and gave up and left.

I think you are totally right. Small changes can lead to big things. Like soda pop to water, more veggies and cooking some meals at home. One step at a time.

I've lost a little weight and working out with a trainer and it seems all to be gone from my waist. So no more muffin top! Pants are actually fitting much better.

My MIL is of the school women should just "diet" and not exercise. She totally doesn't understand my lifting weights, but does try to be supportive. Well I must admit I do like the inches thing. It really helps you see changes. And I like the idea of being stronger. Friends don't understand why I would do weight lifting instead of the treadmill. Want to be able to explain the science behind it.

So I am actually losing fat but gaining the muscle? Several people have said to me that I look slimmer but I didn't think 10 lbs would be that noticeable.
