Clear alcohol, like vodka, is usually the lowest in calories. Pair it with sparkling water, tonic, fruit juice, or have 1 martini. Or of course there is always light beer, Corona light is under 200 calories a bottle.

You can find low sugar protein shakes, if you look for them. I'm not talking EAS pre-packaged shakes, here. We're talking natural foods store all whey or soy protein shakes. They aren't cheap, but they have over 20g protein in a serving, 1-3 g sugar max, and some even have high fiber contents. I love them for recovery…

I've never had their romaine mix, but I love their 50/50 and spring mix. Maybe it was bad romaine? I'm sorry it was so bad!

Does your dining hall, or one near by, have a salad bar? I would try to stick to that for dinners, a big green salad with extra veggies and a lean protein option from the regular line. Breakfasts can be eggs and toast with fruit, lunches maybe sandwich and veggies. I know it's hard at college, especially since they seem to…

Weekly goal: 3000 Mon: 373 (25 minutes stationary bike (9 miles), 20 minutes core strength training) Tues: 623 (35 minutes interval strength training, 15 minutes interval treadmill) Wed: 575 (50 minute walk/jog with double jogging stroller (about 55 lbs worth of kid)) Thur: 526 (120 minute walk w/double stroller) Fri:…

Looking at your food diary, I would recommend adding a little something to breakfast. Maybe a complex carb like a piece of whole grain toast with butter on it. Maybe you could add a protein shake to your day as the good ones are a good source of protein and fiber. You are really eating a lot of snacky foods, not so much…

Are we talking 1300 below your recommended daily allowance or is this after exercise? You should be netting as a man I believe at least 1500 calories a day (after exercise) so I would not go below that. However, a day over calories and then a day under calories will all even out in the end. After all, you are looking for a…

I actually am hypoglycemic and I have found that for some reason I do better working out first thing int he morning on an empty stomach rather than later in the day a few hours after eating. If I eat right before I work out, I get cramps; if I don't eat, I get lightheaded and shaky due to blood sugar levels. I don't know…

Just a short second here to post as I should be working, but I was so excited I had to share! Somehow, some way, whatever I have been doing since Friday has paid off. I was 237 on Friday (home scale) and discouraged as that is up 5 pounds from the previous week with no particular explanation. This morning, I stepped on and…

Loaded twice baked potatoes. Seriously, the ones I make have 240mg of sodium per, which is pretty good for an entree I think. Pair it with steamed veggies (frozen with NOTHING added to them is great, but beware of "steamers" and anything with sauces or flavoring, it all == sodium) and you've got yourself an easy, low fat,…

Popcorn, plain, no butter. Either that or maybe raisinettes?

Ahahaha! I would be very interested to see how that works out!

Thank you for all of the information! I have some time still to decide, so I'll do some research and make a decision. Thanks!

You look fantastic! Great work!

I count decaf tea, water, and soda water when I drink it. I don't count my coffee because I drink it with milk and sugar and it is caffeinated, which is dehydrating. But, I also drink about 100-120 oz of water a day on average, so I'm not too worried about it.

April: 1. You look amazing in that comparison pic, really it is a HUGE difference! You have come so far, you should be so proud of yourself! 2. I'm glad you are working things out with your sister. I know family can SUCK, and I am happy for you that you two have decided to put it in the past. Woke up this morning after my…

First meeting with my trainer today and she kicked my *kitten*. Holy buckets! I'm going to be sore tomorrow...but I'm totally breaking out the new jogging stroller with the girls and the amazing 75 degree weather! Weekly goal: 3000 Mon: 373 (25 minutes stationary bike (9 miles), 20 minutes core strength training) Tues: 623…

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was very work-out filled, which is great for me since I usually slack on the weekends. The only down side is that I ate a LOT of food, and even though I stayed below my calories every day and burned almost 2000 calories in 3 days, I am still freaking UP weight this…

Back in the swing this week. Joined a gym and got my motivation back, yay! I wish I could count the 1880+ calories I burned Friday-Sunday, but I'll just have to work even harder than that this week to get my count up! Weekly goal: 3000 Mon: 373 (25 minutes stationary bike (9 miles), 20 minutes core strength…

Well lets see... I've eaten a whole box of Stovetop Stuffing for dinner before (but it was just the stuffing, nothing else, does that make it better?) A whole box of mac n cheese A sleeve of thin mints (easily) An entire small thin crust veggie pizza from Domino's (EW) An entire sleeve of crunchy chips ahoy A whole bag of…

Saying that you don't need carbs to survive is silly. You need fruits and vegetables, right? You have to remember that CARB does not equal BREAD and TWINKIES. Carbs are in fruits, veggies, anything with sugar (added or natural), anything with fiber, beans, nuts, etc. Accountant Boi is right, the more refined the worse.…

I've got a few good ones in my blog. Also, I use eatingwell.com a LOT and Weight Watcher's recipes.

Sodium will be the death of me, I swear. I hate it, but it's part of life and we're learning how to get around it. Most days. Hubs and I are doing pounds, but the contest is whomever reaches their goal first gets the prize, so hopefully we'll both win in the end! I'm aiming for 18 and he's aiming for 25. I know…

100 miles in 70 days, how are we doing on this challenge? Those of you who are actually doing it. (are you having a hard time getting your miles in, is this doable still?) * Getting there! It went and snowed on me last night and it was WAY too icy to go out this morning, so I did a kickboxing DVD instead of my run. It's…

I weighed more than I do right now before I had kids, and I was in an 18. Now that I am 5lbs lighter and post 2 c-sections, I have flab and fat in different places and have to squeeze into most size 20s. I'm sure your body has changed since you have gained and lost weight, it's completely natural. Every store, brand, and…

I would look it up on a calculator on line to see how much you burn per hour specific to your weight. The more you weigh, the more calories you will burn per hour. Then add it as one of "my exercises" under the exercise tab.

Even though today I was actually up a little (thanks sodium!!) I'm going to post my official weigh in as the lowest weight I got this week. Because I need that .6lbs to keep going!! LOL! Start weight: 233 Week 3: 232.4 Not exactly what I wanted to happen this week, but here's hoping next week is better! Tonight is the big…

I usually make mine with chicken broth (no sodium) and lots of lemon juice. I've also made a quinoa salad with chopped cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, red onion, and home made italian dressing. I'm loving all the recipes here though!

Jiff all natural creamy. It is low sodium and yummy. I really don't like the texture of most of the all naturals I've found, and I don't have peanut butter very often so I stick with this one.
