Flaxseed oil vs. fishoil
I really, really hate taking fish oil, it always gives me indigestion. I was wondering if flaxseed oil has similar health benefits? I can take it without the gross burbs, and I eat fish on the regular already so I am HOPING I can avoid fish oil altogether.

Treadmill boredom
For those of you who run on a treadmill, how do you stop from getting bored? I have found that even when I feel like I could physically keep going, I have to jump off and do something else because I am SO BORED. I have my iPod in and love the music I listen to, but it's still boring after 30 minutes. I am trying to train…

Polar F6...any reviews?
I am looking into mid-priced heart rate monitors for my birthday present this year. I don't want anything fancy, just something that will give me an accurate calorie count so I can really get this weight under control. I did a little research and came across the F6. It looks simple and no-bells and whistles, which I like…

Help with feeding husband - guys, help?
Hubs and I are both trying to lose weight, but his calorie intake per MFP for loss should be 2100, while mine is 1520. We eat the same things more or less, and I am having a hard time feeding him enough food. Because we are trying to lose weight, there is a lot of low fat, low calorie foods in the house, so even though he…

Shin splints??
Hey there everybody. I have been noticing the last week or so that I have been getting what I think are shin splints. The pain is very sharp and pretty bad, but it's not in front of my calf so much as on the inside part. It hurts when I flex my feet, squat down onto the floor, go up on my tiptoes, etc. I've been stretching…

What is the best meat for a roast?
I am making good old fashioned pot roast for dinner tonight with carrots, turnips, and red potatoes. What is the best cut of meat for this that is lower fat/calories but still tastes good? I assume almost anything simmered in a crock pot all day will be tasty, but..... Thanks!

Interval training
Is there any way to calculate calories burned for interval training? I did 30 minutes of intense cardio interval this morning, and since MFP doesn't just have interval training in the cardio section, I put down high impact aerobics. Was that the right choice, or is there something more accurate? Thanks!

Question for ladies with Mirena
I have kind of a random question for you. With the Mirena, I never know if/when I'm going to get a period, but feel like I am in a constant state of PMS (not the mood, thank God, but the physical symptoms). Has anyone noticed this too? Do you think you've had a harder time losing weight on the Mirena? I feel like I am…

Exercises with wrist injury
I have what I believe is arthritis in my right wrist. The Dr can't really figure out what's going on, but that's the best diagnosis he can come up with so far. The problem is that I can't put any weight on my wrist. It's hard to do dumbell exercises, but I can get through them. However, anything that requires me supporting…

Am I helping or hindering?
Hi there. Right now, my MFP setting is 3 workouts 30 minutes at a time. Lately, like the last 3 weeks, I've been going above and beyond that. I'm wondering if I should change my settings, or leave them the way they are? Is it going to make a difference, good or bad, if I change it to say 5 workouts 30 minutes each? My…

Running pains, need stretching help
I have recently been working up to jogging, basically awlking 4mph just about daily. I've been having some low back pain and right sided sciatica (left over from a car accident years ago). This morning, I jogged for the first time in years and am so stiff and I have a lot of pain in those areas. I stretched out right after…

First of many mini-sucecsses.
OK, I do consider being presented with cake, brownies, and candy all in the last week and saying "no thank you" to all of them a success. I also do consider the amount of exercise I've stuck to a success. The biggest measureable success so far though? Getting below 40 BMI. I could not be prouder of myself. That's HUGE.…

Discouraged
A week into my lifestyle change and I'm a bit discouraged. I know I've hit a few roadblocks - if you look at my diaries I had way too many calories last weekend when I was just starting and I didn't exercise yesterday due to not feeling well - but with all of the changes I have made even despite that I really thought I…

Measurements
I have started taking my measurements and I want to be sure I am doing them correctly. Can anyone help? This is how I am doing things now: Hips: Measure the widest part of my hip area, which is where I can feel my hip bones. For all the padding I have, I have really bony hips. Odd. Waist: Measure the narrowest part of my…

Anyone a member of Fitness 19?
I am thikning about joining the Fitness 19 across the street from my house. I called them and while the monthly membership is low ($9/month plus $20/kid/month for daycare), the start up cost is HUGE. About $300 up front for the plan I want which is a membership with the first month with 10 personal trainer sessions. Is it…

New here, hi
Hi. I'm a 26 year old work at home mom of 2 girls under 3. I've been overweight my whole life and basically it got out of control after my 2 c-sections in 2 years. I'm now heavier than I've ever been (not pregnant) and I'm having a really hard time losing the weight. I don't get a lot of structured exercise in my day, but…
