  • Before I got pregnant, I had lost just a bit more than the average amount of cheese the average American eats. Now I'm down to a human head-ish. But on the way down so that's what matters! I have about the World's Largest Ball of Tape to go.
  • LOST - When Juliette and Sawyer recognize each other in the hereafter. And many other times in that finale to be honest. The Walking Dead - Frequently. Glee - Frequently. The biggest one was when Finn dropped Rachel off at the train station though. Needed full on Kleenex for that one. Burn Notice - This show makes me cry a…
  • I'm getting Brad Paisley tickets (hopefully!) or a Nook. Either way I'm super excited! :)
  • My husband says he doesn't care, that I'm beautiful and he loves me no matter what. I know, however, that he'd rather have a thinner, healthier, happier wife. Who wouldn't? He fell in love with that version of me, why wouldn't he want me to be that way now? He is very supportive of me getting in shape and sensitive to the…
  • Are you thinking of juicing? Spinach, carrot, tomato, wheat grass, beet, radish, squash, zucchini, other leafy greens like kale all juice well. Then you can mix and match what you like best. I am personally lazy and buy the V8 low sodium individual cans. I then mix that with a little lime juice and Worcestershire and enjoy.
  • Its been said that carbs lead to bigger bellies, but I don't think there's anything proven about it. It sucks, I want the magic answer to belly flub too because it's my least favorite part of me! However, that said, watching added sugars is ALWAYS a good idea, as is leaner cuts of meat and low/nonfat dairy, IMO. I'm right…
  • I generally marinate my chicken in lemon juice, EVOO, garlic, and onion. Home made is much better than anything in a bottle!
  • I mix in a little nonfat plain greek yogurt, lime juice, curry powder, and black beans. Delish!
  • I've seen a lot of diaries with "breastfeeding" as an exercise or negative caloric intake on the actual diary. You can google how much you burn while nursing, or ask your doc, and add it into your daily burn so you'll "earn" more calories for the day. I think it would be a good suggestion for MFP to try to add it to the…
  • It's much higher in sugar than the plain. I think the best bet would be to label-shop and see which has the least amount of added sugars. Also, I don't know if you have a Sams membership but I get a HUGE tub of Chiobani plain 0% fat there and I pay $5. Very cheap and it lasts.
  • I'm trying to eat every 3 or so hours. Depending on what I eat, I can go longer or I get hungry sooner. But I try to stick to 3 meals and 2 snacks a day. You can look at my diary to see the breakdown.
  • I used to do Tylenol with the caffeine and that helped immensely. Also make sure you are hydrated. I used to get wicked migraines when I was pregnant, you don't forget those headaches. Sorry you're going thru that!
  • Everyone has their preference! I like mine just a smashed avocado, lime juice, finely diced onion, PINCH of salt, and cilantro. I can't get enough cilantro in my life.
  • You have a beautiful family, and what a great wife to reward you with such an awesome bike! My motivation is that I have two daughters and I don't want them to have to struggle their whole life with their weight. It's all consuming, and I want them to be consumed by something much more appropriate for girls, like…
  • Great work! Looking good! Awesome animation too, what a great idea.
  • You look amazing. What an inspirational story! Congratulations on your amazing accomplishment! And thank you so much for sharing...it's these types of stories that keep at least me going when I start to think "why bother?"
  • As a general rule, higher sugar means higher GI. White foods (sugar, flour, etc) are generally high GI and things to avoid. Stay away from refined or processed foods and try to eat as clean and healthfully as possible. Lots of lean proteins, lots of veggies, moderate fruits and whole grains. It's all about the "better"…
  • I usually don't log it as stroller pushing. I push a HUGE double jogger with about 50 pounds of kid in it, it's NOT an easy stroll! I usually log it as a walk according to MPH which gives me more calories for the time.
  • They usually actually spice the tuna in those rolls. Or add wasabi, which is a sushi standard. Glad you liked your fish!
  • If there was a "like" button, I'd have pushed it.
  • I completely agree. The problem isn't confusing food labels. It's that fact that some people just don't give a crap about what they are eating. Most people don't read food labels, even if they were written in red crayon on the front of the box they would still look at the product the way they do now. The problem is MUCH…
  • I personally live in Colorado and eat raw sushi all the time. But if your preference is not to, there are options. Unagi is cooked eel and is amazing. You can order rolls with smoked salmon, steamed shrimp, tofu, or crab meat. I also enjoy green mussels, which are cooked. The above posts that mention the salads, miso soup,…
  • Frustratingly awful. For so many reasons.
  • Applesauce? Apple-bran type muffins?

  • You could consider a recovery drink when you get home. Blend fruit, nonfat yogurt, milk, and ice together for protein and calories.
  • What a cool thing to do! And I bet it's kept your mind occupied while he's gone. Can't wait to see a post about his reaction in a few months! WTG!
  • You've got a few options. You could carry a water bottle with you or use a belt or camel back type bag of water. I prefer the camel bag because I can't run and hold something (not that coordinated, haha!) and they are more comfortable than the belts for me. For the dog, you can buy a collapsible, nylon bowl type thing…
  • I'm a mutt, for sure! 1/4 Italian 1/4 Irish 1/2 German I'm real good at the Catholic guilt, and I can drink like a fish!
  • In my opinion, it is an atrocity to add sugar to spaghetti sauce. I have no idea why anyone does it, including jarred sauce manufacturers. My mom is Italian and has never once put sugar in her sauce. Tomatoes are sweet, carrots are sweet, garlic and onions are sweet, there's plenty of sweetness in sauce as it is without…
  • Low protein? Any particular reason? Protein keeps you full and can be very lean, depending on how you get it. But, to answer your question: fruits, veggies, whole grains, potatoes sweet or regular, beans.
