I am making good old fashioned pot roast for dinner tonight with carrots, turnips, and red potatoes. What is the best cut of meat for this that is lower fat/calories but still tastes good? I assume almost anything simmered in a crock pot all day will be tasty, but.....
Thanks!
Thanks!

Eye of Round is very lean. Pot roast meat tends to be VERY fatty. Pork loin is also very good. I often use chicken breasts instead of beef.0

Thank you! It has been a LONG time since we've had red meat, and the weather is totally calling for a pot roast tonight. Compromise, right?
I will look for Eye of Round or even pork loin. Both sound yummy.0
