Even though not all of these are feasible since cravings do not only come when I am home doing nothing, the point is well proven. If I have a list of things to do, and things that will get my mind off of the craving, and also engaging in other activity, that gives time for the craving to go away, and for my "stinkin…

You, and anyone else on here can add me as a friend. I have only been on here just about 2 weeks, and have over 100 lbs to lose too. I really am struggling with it - have never done this calorie counting before and it's hard. But this place is great for support. some of the rest of you who have responded and have lost a…

I so agree with you - I like to be challenged! it opens me up to new ideas and new ways of thinking. The saying goes: if you always do, what you always did, then you'll always get what you always got! I want my life to be different - right now in the weight loss and health arena - and I need to do something different than…

I don't think someone has to be told to stay off of online communities altogether. You can just read others' posts, post when you feel it appropriate, build a network of friends who you know will be supportive of you. Also this is still a part of overall living, and maybe you can practice here how to deal with the mean…

Thanks so much - I am going to copy and print this out so that I have the recipes handy whenever. And I just stopped a medicine on which I was not allowed to drink - yeah for TGIF!!

That makes sense then, I have done low carb in the past and it is supposed to make you feel satisfied after a week or so of doing it - then adding more and more veggies, espec. the "whole" foods (not processed and fresh) would be more fiber and bulky feeling.

It's actually delicious with cream cheese and you can use the 1/3 less fat (fat free has the right texture but no taste in my opinion). It also makes a nice party food - you soften a bar of 1/3 less fat cream cheese, one can of drained tuna packed in water, a dash of lemon juice and dash of worcestershire sauce, and form…

I feel the same was as Penelope and Chosengiver - what are you eating that is making you feel so full before getting all of your calories in?
-
Looks like you kept the 6 pack from your first picture( drink in hand) and moved it to be a different 6 pack in the second  Congrats!!

What diet are you using, since you eat 2000 cal and still lose weight?
-
You are not the first person to say that. Many people don't so you may feel in the minority here on this post, but you aren't alone.

That's a good way of looking at it - we CAN control this - but it's learning the new habits and other ways to deal with stress, let down, negative comments from others and in our own heads, etc. I definitely think it's hard and is like a roller coaster - but I have found all of life is - you're up , you're down, you are…

Masters in Counseling - I was in my last week of last 2 classes when stroke happened (mid April). Had to put off finishing them and internship that was supposed to begin that May. My busy schedule and stress are what my friends think added to my having a stroke, although the doctors say it was a tear in my vertebral…

I loved reading these! I am new to MFP but in my weight class, with 100+ to lose, you have to allow yourself to indulge sometimes. I have done low carb dieting in the past with great results - but every week allowed myself one regular meal (not low carb) and one sweet treat, and if I hadn't I wouldn't have even stayed on…

Thanks so much for posting that! It was very informative, and I must say, has given me more to think about than previously when I heard things like "drink water to help lose weight" because like you said, the information was a little convoluted. This was clear and gave good info - I even shared some with my parents who…

Congrats!!

Your doctor was right - I know several people who have had the surgery and are still as focused on food as they were before it and have gained it back or are slowly inching up there again. That's a lot to go through to only gain it back again. You can find help through others to help you deal with emotional eating, and to…

Great post - I should print that and hang it where I can see it everyday - and when I feel those ways - it will remind me what I SHOULD do instead of eat! Thanks.

That's great!! I had gone to OA mtgs back a couple of years ago for a class on substance abuse, but thought this might apply more to me - and when they read the book the first few weeks I was struck dumb - it was like they were inside my head! I cried at the first mtg I spoke during because I couldn't hold it back -…

I agree that I love food and it is like a bad relationship! I even wrote a letter to it a couple of years ago to break up with it, but I guess secretly deep down, I didn't want out of this abusive relationship. But it is time for a change NOW!!!

would love that avocado dressing recipe - I just joined here tonight and saw the topic of Avocados which I like too - want to find weight saving ways of using them.
