My friend became lactose intolerant BECAUSE he drank too much milk. He bought a load of Nesquik as a student and ended up drinking 2 pints a day for a solid couple of weeks. Safe to say he quickly gave up once his body started rejecting it. Besides, it doesn't have all the nutrients to sustain a person anyway. I wouldn't…

I have an FT4 and I use it every day, mostly to count my walking calories :-)

I'm just about to enter my second year of university! Anybody can add me :-)

Any suggestions that don't involve a heart rate monitor? I know they're really useful but I can't afford to buy one. Even spending £6 on a pedometer was a real extravagance for me! I would by a HRM if I could but I just don't have the money to unfortunately...

So can I log my weight at 138.5 do you think? Or should I leave it at 143? Obviously I really want to change it, but I don't want lots of 'well dones' if it's incorrect because I'll feel like a fraud... don't want to let my friends down :-)

The thing is I don't know what my actual weight is. I'm not saying it definitely wasn't water weight, just that if it was I've been carrying around water weight for a very long time. I don't have access to any other scales so how do I know what my actual weight is if the ones I have are broken? When I came home a week ago…

Find a friend! Seriously it's the best way. I go with my boyfriend and his flatmate (who is a girl) about 3 times a week. It's better for rest periods because you can rest whilst the other person/ people go but you don't have to feel protective over the barbell whilst your recover between sets and they can help you with…

I've pretty much started too and I do 7kg dumbbell squats and lunges (3 sets of 8-12 reps) and 55kg deadlifts. Although I started at 5kg squats/lunges and 40kg deadlifts a couple of weeks ago. But just remember that technique is important to get right before you even think about lifting heavier stuff (with deadlifts…

I saw one with pesto in it (because I know pesto has a fair few calories as tasty as it is) and it's 1071 calories (look to my diary for tomorrow to see other nutritional info). Do you think this is too high an estimate? I've picked out my lunch too to try to keep me going but not go over calories. I'll be having lunch…

I should also add that this restaurant isn't a chain, so the nutritional information won't be available online anywhere.

I would like to say at this point that I have literally been putting EVERYTHING in that I eat, even if it's just a satsuma or a couple of Skittles. I don't even miss out a glass of squash!

Those two days where I ate 600 calories over were when I was staying with my gran, and she'd cooked all these meals and I didn't have the heart to tell her that I was trying to cut down because she worries that i won't like what she cooks. I know it's not really an excuse but it's difficult to try to lose weight because…
