How many calories should I log my pizza as?

My dancing society at uni are having a 'last session of the year' party and they're ordering in pizza from a restaurant nearby. I've been fine with calories recently so I thought I'd treat myself and have the pizza with them. I know it's not good to estimate calories because it can prove very inaccurate, but I really don't know what to log it as. I'll make sure I eat as lightly as I can the rest of the day so it doesn't matter if it's 1000 calories, although naturally I'd rather it was less! I feel I should log it as something, just so I remember that I've had it when I'm looking back at my week. What do you guys think? This is the description of the one I picked:
Margherita:
(Buffalo mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, basil pesto, grated mozzarella, oregano)
Thanks!

I should also add that this restaurant isn't a chain, so the nutritional information won't be available online anywhere.0
-
Just go to dinner or lunch, add food, and type in "Margherita pizza" and see what comes up. Then pick one that seems the most reasonable, or one that has a nice average out of the others. I can't see your pizza, so I don't know the amount of toppings, etc. If you're just looking for an estimate, this is the easiest way to get that.0

Always better to overestimate.
GREAT to see someone on here thought not complaining about some party or gathering and how it will ruin their weight loss journey. Nice job0 -

Yup. That's what I do too.0 -

This is what I would do.0 -

eh my homemade pizza with tonnes of meat (beef, bacon, sausage, pepperoni, salami, ham) and cheese has 385 cal per slice...not sure how big of a slice of cheese pizza would have to be to have 300...0 -

Well, for one, it's not homemade.0 -

so...PIzza hut pan pizza medium sliced cheese only pizza has 240 calories...that I get...but one slice regular cheese at 300 seems high to me0 -
I think a whole large pizza is something like 1800-2000 calories?
totally depends on the slice.
I just go by serving size.
1 serving size = 1 pizza.
fat kid is fat- and never *just* eats 1 slice LOL0 -

I do that too, I usually would add a little more just in case, we had office lunch with burritos, I only ate half of it but I logged with a whole one from Chipolte.0 -
what I do if there's no nutritional info available, is I do 3-4 searches for your item to see what the calorie differences are (there's usually a very wide range). Average it out between the few you pull up.0

Thanks!
I see everything online from 167 calories to 560. Enjoy.0 -
Make your best estimate and go with it. Don't do this consistently but don't be afraid to have a good time celebrating. I don't guesstimate often, but when I do I tend to assume a little more just in case.0

I saw one with pesto in it (because I know pesto has a fair few calories as tasty as it is) and it's 1071 calories (look to my diary for tomorrow to see other nutritional info). Do you think this is too high an estimate? I've picked out my lunch too to try to keep me going but not go over calories. I'll be having lunch about 12/ 12:30 but I'll be having pizza any time from 7:30-8:45, so I'll need food to keep me going, especially as I'll be studying and going to the gym in between.

One slice of a large cheese pizza from Pizza Hut is listed at 350.0 -

Just pick one. Log it. Move on.
It's fine to be over occasionally. It's fine to guess sometimes.0 -

Yes I was thinking this too! This should be about something we can enjoy and not miss out on everything.0 -
look it up on phone app. Much easier to see avg cals per slice there.
Just a FYI Americans, your average pizza slice sizes are about double Australian ones so don't ever pick Australian pizza entries0 -
I live in NY.., our slices are 300 lol
Love new york pizzerias... I need to head out there this summer... get in a few cheat days..
I just find something similar on the phone app and overestimate.0 -
The type of crust is going to make a big difference in the calories. Thin crust, New York style, etc. have much fewer calories than regular crust, deep dish, Chicago style, etc.0
