  • I would re-evaluate your diet. Are you not eating enough calories and trying to lose weight too quickly? That will cause you to either want to binge (or actually binge) and may even cause you to gain weight because you essentially set yourself up for failure. You need to make sure to have a nutrient dense diet --> increase…
  • Healthful snacks --> something that can be harvested raw from the earth. Not processed "healthy" diet snack crap.
  • Well I just started MFP again after baby #2, but I used MFP to get back to my normal weight after baby #1 :) For weight maintenence my biggest advice is do. not. quit. exercising! As far as food goes, to maintain your weight you can be more generous with calories. If I'm eating something extra and it is healthful I don't…
  • My hubs and I got married planning on having children right away. We wanted children because we have experienced a lot in life, we've taken trips, enjoyed vacations, earned our degrees (and I'm still furthering my education after two kids) and we wanted to share our happiness and love with a family we created out of our…
  • What kind of hair care are interested in? I got rid of all the shampoo/conditioner residue switching to baking soda and apple cider vinegar. My hair is no longer greasy or even needs to be washed everyday like it used to. 2 tbs baking soda to 8 oz of warm water to "wash" -- rinse 2-3 tbs of ACV to 8 oz warm water to…
  • I only log it if it is purposeful exercise.
  • Personally I find meal planning in advance more helpful. This also keeps me from having staple items in the house...because if there is any junk that is not on a pre-planned meal available -- I'll eat it. On Sunday's I fill out breakfast/lunch/dinner/snacks for the week (or at least a couple days ahead with ideas in mind…
  • Any kind of cake, breyer's chocolate icecream, raw cookie dough, reese's peanut butter cups....
  • Planning to start MFP come the 25th of this month provided my little one's 1 month well baby check up shows good weight gain, etc. I'm ready to feel "normal" again and have my workout routine back! My goal is to be between 125-130...
  • I concur with raleigh.
  • Mine were a deep purplish color after delivery. After 11 months, though, they are whole lot lighter....but still present. Honestly it would take surgery to fix the skin and tighten that back up. And considering the fact I opted for a homebirth to avoid my state's 34% cesarean rate....totally not up for surgery to fix it.…
  • Add Epsom salt to the bath water - some come in fragrant relaxing aromas :) My knees and legs used to ach after a 12 hour shift at work and the next day after a run, but ever since I lost 10 lbs I don't have any more pain....even if I run on asphalt (sp?).
  • Sounds like an electrolyte imbalance. Maybe bump up your potassium and magnesium rich foods a bit.
  • No, he doesn't love you. And if you stay with him, you don't love you either.
  • Do you really want to raise your girls in an environment where they learn that it is okay for the man in their life to kick out his better half, not ever return phone calls and in general doesn't repect them. They learn all of that from watching you and your relationship. Set them up for success in their future…

  • Yum - green onion. I'll have to try that.
  • LOL! I know exactly how you feel! The weight didn't just magically come right off for me either. The best I can tell you is that it came off in spurts and probably was enhanced by hard work! I lost 8 lbs somewhere in his fourth month...and then another 8 lbs in his eighth month...and now I've just gained a couple back. So…
  • What day are we weighing in and posting progress?
  • Making choices IS hard! But even though you are eating crap - I can't help but notice that you mentioned that there was no point in logging it in. That isn't true. Sometimes it isn't enough to know just that you are eating terrible food - sometimes it's best to be 100% honest in what you eat, in terms of calories, fat,…
  • Not a bad choice if you are seriously on the run and don't have time for a bowl of cereal or something. Something is better than nothing. They don't teach you proper portion size or how to make more appropriate food choices. Personally they leave me STARVING after about 2 hours....and when I'm starving with nothing healthy…
  • Oooohh - oooohhh! Me too! Goals: 1) Get my 11 month old son outside every beautiful day for a minimum of 30 minutes! 2)Eat a minimum of 5 a day (fruits and veggies) 3)Hit my daily goals of Vit A, C, Calcium, Iron, Potassium, and Fiber - even if it means going a smidge over my daily allowance. I want to be healthy thin....I…
  • How about a critical care nurse? :) Formerly combat medic, EMT-B, nurse aid and lifeguard. I think I'll be a doctor next ;P
  • Wow. She has to live through the rest of the weight gain to get to her goal. It's sad though; a child will be prematurely motherless reguardless. It hurts my heart.
  • Sounds great. Keep up the good work.
  • I think that just helps it more accurately calculate your BMR. I would have put the lowest category too. However I'm not sure how accurate it is anyway. I noticed waitressing was in a higher category than nursing. I'm a nurse and I fo sho don't get to sit, usually don't get to chart until the end of the day, and only…
  • Check your expectations! Read this: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/9433-expectations Thanks for the link!
  • Dried fruits and nuts are good for you, but not really a good choice if you are trying to loose weight and are restricting calories. It is a great snack for weight maintenance or if you are trying to gain weight, though.
  • That is a fantastic idea too!
  • You can teach your body to be fit enough to do anything. When I started basic training (a long time ago) I could barely do one real push up. By the end of that 9 weeks I could get in the thirties. As I kept doing them as a part of my workout routine, I kept getting better. My best push up score was 65 for two minutes. Rome…
