Hey...I'm 5'6.5 and 172 pounds. I'm setting smaller goals so my 1st goal was to lose 18Ibs...11 to go :) I find with smaller goals they feel more achievable, so when I hit this goal I will then set another and so on till I'm happy. That's the plan anyway!!

You need more carbs before running esp that distance...carbs fuel the body, protein repairs muscle. I used to make that mistake but I would feel weak during the run so had to include more carbs pre run! It's worth a try :)

How close to running do you eat, and what do you eat pre run?

There are pros and cons of both. Cardio before breakfast is something body builders tend to promote....I personally train before breakfast a lot. But you should never strength train without any fuel in your body :)

I'm new to the forum thing too but again not to weight lose and diet....I've tried them all. But I only have to look at a packet of crisps and I put on a pound ;)

You can definitely combine losing fat and strength training!! It is said that a pound of muscle will burn between 30-50 more calories a day then a pound of fat will. However after a few weeks of strength training your weight lose may plateau but it doesnt mean your not losing fat it's just your body fat % will be dropping…

Hey good work so far on the weight loss. Your body gets used to a routine and stops responding. Mix up your exercise...do something you wouldn't normally do it will shock your body!! Or even try interval training on the elliptical trainer...do a minute really fast and slow down to a resting pace for a minute and repeat…

TOP GUN!!! Without a doubt ;)
