  • For me it differed by level. Level 1 and 3 I burned 184-200(the 184 is because I was unfamiliar with the moves so would skip some reps to get the form. Then once I had the moves down, I burned between 190 - 200 calories). I burned more with level 2; between 194 - 220 calories. You move around a lot more even in the…
  • For me level 1 reminded me more of the shred and wasn't as bad as I expected. I'm on level 3 day 2 now and the workouts definitely do get harder. Haven't seen any real change in my body but that's probably because I eat horribly the first 2 weeks of the workout. So I'm cleaning up my act for the last two and will see what…
  • Oh man! They all went out for New Year for another friends birthday and I missed out on so much! It definitely did sound like people had a blast. I don't wanna lie, sometimes I do feel like I miss out on so much because of being so reserved :ohwell:
  • The BF wasn't invited LOL....sorry it's kind of funny to me...but yeah, she just filled me in that there is a small get together at her house before hand. So I think I'll go to that then when everyone else leaves to go drinking I'll head home :) even though she is still begging me to go to the bar, I think that is a good…
  • Aaww thanks everyone for you input! I'm touched by all the help! Hearing all you guys' justifications has really helped me make a decision. I think I really like the suggestion of meeting her up and then leaving early. We can definitely have a nice lunch/dinner over the weekend to make up for the rest of the time. Thanks…
  • It's a matter of faith and the culture I grew up in. I'm Zimbabwean and was raised in a strict household so the whole drinking, smoking, partying thing was always a no no, especially for a female child. So I feel like I am betraying a lot by going. But at the same time I believe what you are saying and really think I'll be…
  • You definitely have smoothed out a lot! I see a big difference in your thighs. You are doing great. Keep it up! I'm on day 24 and eating 1500 calories too. Have lost a little over a pound which used to disappoint me but am working on focusing on the mirror instead of the scale now.
  • Well from what I have heard running on a treadmill is easier because the belt is revolving so you are not putting as much effort into propelling yourself as you would running outside. Also outside you have wind resistance and really have to carry all your weight on your own to move forward so you work harder than on a…
  • I've done level 1 and 2 so far and my HRM always give me a range of 160-195 depending on how hard I push myself. And that is the calorie burn from warm up to the end of the last circuit (~25mins) I don't include the cool down. It's bound to be a bit different for everyone because there is the factor of weight too. The more…
  • I'm doing the Shred right now. Just finished level 2 day 20 today. I do the shred in the evening before dinner everyday between 5 and 6pm. On top of that I do an additional 30-60mins of cardio 5 days a week early in the morning between 5 and 6am. And I feel fine. Not over worked at all. Some people manage to do the shred…
  • You look great! Awesome job sticking with it! I'm on day 18 today and hope to get results that are just as good!
  • I'm not a mom but I did experience some back pain when doing level 1 of the shred. It was on my right side though. I just did some extra stretches twice a day an hr after the shred and in the morning when I woke up (I shred in the early evening). And it went away after a day or two. I was worried too cause the pain didn't…
  • Hi Team :) I'll so try to upload pictures and measurements tomorrow :) My goal is a little backward in that, I am having trouble eating more than 1200cals a day. Not because I'm trying to starve or anything ( I LOVE food) but I am doing the 30DS on top of my regular workout routine so it's been throwing me off my calorie…

  • I'm doing the 30DS everyday right now and I do 30-60mins additional cardio 5days a week. I feel perfectly fine :) It's very manageable. Just listen to your body, if you need to take a day off or do less exercises aside from the shred then go for it. Everyone is different. But it's definitely doable.
  • Have an FT60 as well. I think the features are worth the extra $ because they are very useful so you'll definitely be using them. Love everything about it, the trainer feature, the fitness test, the screen is big and reads easily, and the optional GPS is always a plus. I would say go for the FT60.

  • As a nutrition major I've been taught that egg yolks are perfectly fine unless you have a cholesterol problem, of which most people do not, or just too much of them. So I second what the first couple of people said. And egg yolks do have nutritional value so you go right ahead and enjoy your whole egg :) Just don't go…
  • I'll join if it's still okay. My scale has also stopped moving lately :( So am trying to wean myself off of focusing on the number on the scale and focus instead on inches lost/ how my clothes fit. Name: Maidei Machina Height: 5'5.5" CW: 146lbs GW: 125lbs
  • I think morning would also be best for you. I love it that way because then I just get it out of the way; and as others are saying, I have no way of talking myself out of it later then have to feel guilty about it. I am also not a morning person but I came to realize that I have to want my weight loss more than my sleep. I…
  • My story exactly :) 22, wanting to shed 20lbs and tone up, with a super fit boyfriend :) Add me if you'd like! You're going to do great. You've already taken the first step in joining the site. Things can only go up from here!
  • I got a Polar FT60 HRM and found out the elliptical at my gym over estimated calories burned by 27%! While MFP over estimated by almost 27% as well if you use the generic "Elliptical trainer" option. But the treadmill numbers were pretty accurate on MFP with only a 10-15% overestimate. The actual treadmill readout,…

  • As long as your net calories are over 1,200 you will be fine. Meaning if you have to eat back your exercise calorie then do so. I think of my exercise calories as "bonus calories" so that I can eat more because just working on a 1,200cal diet was too strict for me. So I exercise and burn off 500 about 3-4days a week so on…
  • Thank you for the lovely comments everyone :) I definitely hope it did help motivate some people because I know seeing others pics on here definitely give me the drive  @ Mstawanya: TJ Maxx is the place to shop  @ Ukaryote: The eye surgery definitely was a motivating factor to lose weight. I wanted to be a…
  • Agreed. The heavier you are the more calories you burn per minute. Age and weight play a big role. Or maybe try using a different machine and see if you get the same output if possible. I usually burn 295 - 300cals in 33mins @ 148lbs.
  • Well from what I've learned from my Kinesiology classes, long term studies show that people who stick to a 1,400cal diet and exercise at least 3 days a week for 45mins are the most successful at keeping the weight off. So if you can't exercise, the only option you really have is to cut back on your calorie consumption. But…
