I work in an office 1.5-2 hour drive from my home and have a house, a husband, 3 dogs, 2 cats, chickens and a horse (and 2 grown kids)... so I have almost no time to work out. I either: Don't workout at all or go for a walk at lunchtime take the stairs whenever I can and park far away from wherever I'm going. That's it.…

FYI, you'll be consuming a lot less calories than that after your surgery and while you may see your surgeon at 1 week and then 1 month, there's a good chance you won't see him/her again for a few months after that, so being "medically managed" will pretty much mean that you are going to be told to 1. drink a lot of water,…

could it be because you were on a different scale? and if the two scales are the EXACT same (impossible) and you just weighed more on one because you drank a ton of water, why would that be frustrating? it's WATER, not fat.
-
You're confused because you weigh one amount on your own scale and a different amount on your girlfriend's? why do you think that is?
-
It is a lot, but it's not a crazy amount depending on how much the poster has to lose. A lot of people drop a significant amount in the first week of dieting (just as sometimes people lose nothing the first week). I've gone on 1200 calorie a day diets and lost 6lbs the first week, 4 the next, and 3 the next (and then it…

I have been both heavy and thin, and I've noticed that when I am losing, there are often people who see what I'm eating and comment negatively about it. It's often along the lines of "that's IT? that's not healthy!" when it's something small like an egg. I am sure that if I had always been thin and eating "just an egg",…

? Do you want to know how much you weigh before you go? then weigh yourself. If you don't care what the scale says, then don't. Nobody can tell you if you should weigh yourself. Would I? Yes, but I'm not you. I weigh myself every day and would want to know what I was before vacation. but again, I'm not you. if you want to…

THIS. or people in concentration camps. or poor people all over the world.

only if you want to know how much you weigh.

You do need to stay on vitamins after surgery but you don't NEED shots. Just take vitamins. It won't solve a real eating disorder. If you're obsessed with eating ice cream, you'll still eat it, but...with gastric bypass, it may make you sick, which kind of takes the fun out of it. You'll get really full, super fast. Which…

That's how I read it too. I have friends of all sizes. The ones I really care about - I don't notice or care if they gain a little weight. I don't love them for how slim their thighs are - I love them for who they are. Subsequently, I often don't notice if they've lost weight either, but if they point out that they have, I…

Great job! Here's my 'before' and 'during'. 50lb difference:

Great job! What a difference!

I make my own salsa. It's finely chopped onion, garlic, red and green peppers, tomatoes, cilantro, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and a few jalapeno. It's spicy, so if I eat a few spoonfuls i don't feel like eating for a while. So delicious and low calorie.

Days I'm in the office: coffee with 2 scoops of Vital Protein collagen protein powder and a greek yogurt and sometimes a piece of cheese. Days I work from home or the weekend: coffee with 2 scoops of Vital Protein collagen protein powder and a scrambled egg with home made salsa on a piece of Ezekial whole grain bread or in…

I had mine removed 15 years ago. There was no difference in how I felt or ate or lost or gained weight afterwards.

Are you asking if your scale is accurate? How would we know? Supposing that it is, and you weighed yourself accurately yesterday and today, then it's obviously correct. You're 3 lbs lighter. Not 3 pounds of fat, but 3 pounds of fat, water, undigested food, most likely.
-
try an extra cup of coffee? and also - good luck and congrats on the 7lbs! you can do this. Just take one day at a time. :)

My high school best friend and her husband invented those rainbow bagels. :) I grew up in NY, now living in North new jersey.

Vital protein makes a great one. I get mine on amazon. As the person a few posts above said, loose skin is mostly genetic and not how fast or slow you lose it, so there's no reason to worry about it. As of far as eating more...i totally get why your calories are so low...you're motivated to lose and you want to get it OFF.…

I weigh every day. EXCEPT... it used to drive me nuts to see the scale stay the same or even go up, for no viable reason. I'd panic and get depressed. Then a few things happened - I read enough people telling me to ignore the scale and that those fluctuations are normal, that I started to listen. I also got a trend app…

I've lost 47lbs. I'm also 5'5" and started off a little heavier than you. I'm tired a lot - I work full time and have a long commute to work. I also have a house, a husband, 3 dogs, 2 cats, a horse, and 2 grown kids living with me, so I don't have a lot of time to work out. I can tell you this - I'm a lot less tired now…

eating under 1200 isn't going to stop someone from losing weight or gastric surgery patients would have a really hard time eating enough to lose (and that's not the case. They almost always drop a TON of weight very quickly while eating under 1000 calories a day. The only ones who don't lose after 2 months are the ones who…

Good luck! I'm heading for the same thing too! 11 more pounds to go (I'm down around 40 right now).
-
OMG, THIS.
-
Sorry, lotion doesn't change your skin's elasticity. It's mostly genetics but also how long you were overweight.
-
Good luck. just keep at it and don't expect a consistent downward motion on the scale... sometimes, no matter how good your choices are, the scale will fluctuate. Don't get discourage.
-
losing weight is a process and sometimes, you'll have set backs. maybe even back to where you started. EVERYONE does, so don't worry or beat yourself up over it, just pick yourself up and start again. Instead of focusing on the big, overwhelming picture, focus on ONE DAY. Just get through today making good choices. If you…

You look Great! This was so great to see. Congrats!!
