my diary is open if you want to see.

I do both as well. i try to keep my sugar and carbs under my goal and my protein over. For sodium, I try to keep it lower, just so I don't have to think about water weight, but since it doesn't really contribute to fat loss, i'm not super concerned with it.

ha.. i'm at 201.8 Hoping to be under 200 by this time next week!

I crochet a lot and don't consider it a calorie burning activity at ALL. in fact, I feel guilty for the lack of movement.

Now that is HUGE!! (going off diabetes meds). when I first joined MFP, I would read the success stories forums looking at the before and after pics for inspiration. I would read the NSV threads too, but without a visual, the accomplishments seemed so foreign to me. As I started to lose weight, I realized how close I was to…

I try to eat mostly unprocessed foods, but I LOVE sugar free creamers, and fat free whipped topping. Both are evil, I know. I still do have some processed foods though- I have plain instant oatmeal a few days a week, since cooking oatmeal on a stovetop isn't an option in my office. I also add flavoriing to my water.

thanks everyone!

I am around 5'4" and I started at 255. I've lost 52lbs in around 5 months. I just walk on the treadmill a few times a week for 30-45 minutes (I had to work up to that).

it's pretty easy actually. I am not a big eater and I get full quickly. I got fat because I ate fast food, fried food, and candy every day. Now I make healthy choices and eat 1200 cals a day, every day. I'm healthier than i've ever been (just had a physical) and i can't say that i'm never hungry, but i'm certainly not…

it's funny you posted this- I'm trying to go black too. I cut out artificial sweetener for a while, then started really just adding a tablespoon of creamer. I sometimes still use a packet of splenda or equal, but now i'm determined to not use it and cut out the creamer as well. I'm addicted to coffee. its bad.

I eat almost exactly 1200 cals per day. I don't eat back my exercise calories but I will allow myself to go over 1200 if I've been active enough. I've lost 51 lbs in exactly 5 months. my blood pressure is down, my skin is clear, my hair is healthier and I feel great.

start over tomorrow and don't eat so much. unless you don't really want to lose weight.
-
why would you do that? you could do a "eat all the fruit, veggies, cereal, skim milk, yogurt, almonds, fish and chicken you want diet" as long as you stick within your calorie range, and I bet you wouldn't get sick of it.

next week.

granola is notoriously high in calories and often in sugar too. you can always sprinkle a little on some plain greek yogurt. throw in some blueberries for sweetness. I eat 1200 cals a day and try not to go over 200 cals for breakfast, but that's what works for me.

MFP over estimates the calories burned by quite a bit. you're not going into starvation mode after a week (otherwise gastric bypass patients would never lose...), so you're either eating too much, or retaining water. also, although a few people have said that its doubtful that you've built up muscle in only one week, if…

This is me at 255 from this past august: This is at around 215: This is at 205 (last week):

wow! your beauty is really apparent now! great job!!

I once had a boyfriend who said I ruined his night because he was out with the fattest girl (me) in the club. One time I had gotten quite thin (for me) and was down to a size 6-8. My grandmother said now I just had to lose my thighs and get a nose job. I've been called a fat*ss and to get off my big **kitten* and do…

lol... thank you!!

I started August 8, 2012 and have lost 49.4 lbs This was me as I was starting (around 255lbs) I don't have any current full body shots, and I'd take one now but i'm wearing a huge sweatshirt, but here is a face shot I just took (i look like poop- working from home today):

great job! you look fantastic!

you know this thread is a year and a half old and the OP hasn't posted in about that long, right?
-
lol... yeah, I can imagine. My maiden last name is the same as a VERY famous old time actor (like Astaire or Chaplin, etc.)... EVERY time I told someone they made a comment. that *kitten* got OLD, fast.

i WAS up around 2.5lbs (I didn't weigh myself the day after christmas) but now i'm only up 1lbs... I'm home from work until next thursday, so it's been tough to stay away from the fridge and too cold for me to workout!

i can't see your diary so I don't know what foods you are eating to get to 1200cals but you can eat a well balanced, decent amount if you make good choices. a large, egg white omelet for breakfast with a slice of low cal bread, a big salad with shrimp or tuna, some fruit for a snack and some steamed veggies and chicken,…

Great job! I was particularly interested in this thread because i've lost a similar amount (47lbs in 4.5 months... yes, just counting calories and walking on the treadmill) and I wanted to see what the difference looked like on someone else. It's a BIG DIFFERENCE!!
-
beautiful! you look like your own, younger sister now! great job.

We go out most friday nights and almost every sat. night. I do end up getting a salad with chicken (or steak or shrimp) a lot because it's the easiest to figure out. I try to go to chain restaurants when possible, because they usually have their nutritional info on line, or at least in the food database. If not, and I'm…
