i have the mirena and i'm very happy with it. I don't think i gained weight because of it, and since my weight is coming off easily now, i doubt it's having any effect. I've had it for 4 years, and I'm starting to get a period again. could be due to weight loss, or my age (45)... I don't know, but i'll get it replaced…

that's what I was about to say. I didn't see anything close to big hips.

did this picture have ANYTHING to do with weight loss, or are you just showing us that you can shoot? i'm ashamed you're from NJ and proud of this.

you look great! love the black and white dress. :)

I am 45 and a few months ago, I thought maybe I was starting this, because I didn't have much of a sex drive, and I noticed my hair was thinning. That was it. But then I lost weight and my sex drive is back (because of course, now I FEEL sexy). My hair is still thinner than it used to be, so the last time I went to the…

OH, I'll be your friend! add me!! oh wait. :)

i'm not sure how much I lost in total for the week, but i did well last week. I think it was over 2lbs. Right now, I'm at 210.6 i think.... SO close to the magical onederland, that for right now, i'm focusing on getting to 209, so i can be single digits away from 200. :)

There's a GREAT book called... something like, "Help, my teenager is crazy" and it explains the biological reasons why they get rebellious, crazy, and... well... stupid. It really gives great advice on how to handle the difficult teens and what to do to keep your relationship strong. I have a 16 year old and frankly, she's…

that's an exceptionally generalizing statement and pretty ridiculous. If it were true, then most people here would be overestimating their daily calories. Most of the people here that are a higher weight aren't eating at 1200 calories anyway... they are allowed much more than that, which does allow more room for error (the…

if you love it, and you've always wanted it, AND it won't interfere with your life (meaning, you won't get fired or passed up for a promotion, or something else), then do it now. You're young enough to be able to (not that being older should prevent you from doing things you like, but sometimes life makes it harder. and…

without knowing the OP's health, height, or current weight, why would you suggest that a 1lb per week loss is more reasonable than a 2lb per week loss? If she was 300lbs, are you suggesting that it take her 2 years to get under 200? that doesn't sound reasonable. not attacking, just asking about your reasoning.

I don't mind the OP asking this question AT ALL, and I'm a 1200 cal eater. why? because a lot of people on this forum say things like, "you go have fun starving yourself... i'm going to eat a pizza." without knowing if low cal eaters are even hungry! They also don't often take into consideration the low cal eater's height…
-
thank you... I was just about to ask her why she would still assume it's torture for everyone, after so many people say they aren't really hungry at 1200-1500 cals. i think some people believe whatever they do and feel, should be the global standard. :)

that looks delicious and similar to how I eat (except for the nightly snack). I have an egg with 2 whites and spinach omelet a lot and I'm full for hours.
-
I totally understand what you're saying (and seeing) and maybe i can offer some insight. On 1200 cals a day i'm losing around 1.5lbs a week. Sometimes 2 if I exercise enough. MFP figures that I'll lose 1.6lbs per week so that's pretty accurate. So... could I eat more and still lose? yes. i could eat back my exercise…

Hi. I'm 5'5", 45 years old, and started at 255 exactly 4 months ago. I've lost 42lbs and I eat 1200 cals a day. I have a desk job and i'm not very active. 3-4 times a week I try to get a brisk walk in, or do some interval jog/walking. I do not usually eat back my calories. The first few days of eating at 1200, I was a…

i do around: 200 for breakfast (eggs or oatmeal) 100 snack (homeade beef jerky) 300 for lunch (usually a homeade wrap) 100-200 for another snack (apple and cheese or almonds) whatever is left for dinner total: 1200 cals.

I'm so glad you're here. :) You will get an amazing amount of support and encouragement, as well as understanding and great ideas. One thing I love about MFP is that the person you see needing to lose 300lbs struggles with a lot of the same issues that the person needing to lose 50 lbs does. There are a lot of good foods…

academically, I excelled- I skipped a grade, graduated high school at 16, college at 20, and I have a very high IQ. But that was all 20 years ago. I read a lot now, and do a lot of technical work, but my husband is a nuclear engineer and incredibly good about fixing things. He amazes me a lot with his memory, knowledge of…

Good for you! I did well this week - 2.8 lbs. I'm down to 212.8... about 6-9 weeks away from onederland.
-
awww, that's sweet! mine has been very supportive and complimentary, which is helping a lot. When I first started, he would be secretive about things (like if he bought himself cookies or cake he would go eat in his office) but I told him it's fine- it's not tempting me at all.

The CEO at my last job (he was my boss). Biggest *kitten* ever. He's the only person I've ever wished death upon. I still do, but id settle for a punch in the face. He's 6'6" though... i cant reach his face.

what a great perspective... thank you for the reminder. The numbers on the scale are the result... not the goal... you're absolutely right!
-
congratulations!! I can't wait to be there (14 more to go)... Must be an amazing feeling!!

my hair is long (middle of my back) and I wash it every day. It's curly, so i wake up with giant, crazy hair. When I straighten it, sometimes I'll wash it the night before instead, blow dry it straight, and use a flat iron in the morning. I use a morrocan oil and condition it often. it's pretty healthy and shiny.
