I was a big late night eater. It's only recently become better. Only way I dealt with it was to save calories for it - like others suggested. I plan what I'll have ahead, log it carefully, and have safe snacks in mind - and no guilt. You can get creative with your choices. I eat a lot less late nite now. Some of my go to…

Thanks for the correction - good to know. Almonds still have healthy fats. I like using walnuts to make pesto, instead of pine nuts. Btw, 14 walnut halves are about an oz.

Almonds are among the healthiest tree nuts. They contain unsaturated fats, healthy Omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, Vitamin E, minerals, and other substances that promote heart health and lower cholesterol. Good fats can lower bad cholesterol levels. The danger for us dieters is in the high calories. About 11-12 almonds is half…

I agree with the above post. If you log everything on MFP, you will lost weight. If I can do it, you can do it. (I'm 46) Every couple weeks, you can add something new. I didn't worry about exercising the first couple weeks - I just focused on logging everything, drinking water, and no processed carbs. Then, I added some…

Cappri - Congratulations on your weight loss! Amazing!

I follow my own modified plan. Basically: 1200 calories (with additional exercise calories most days up to 1500); 40/40/20 carb/protein/fat. Keeping my carbs to 100g a day works well (my limit is 120.) I lost a lot once on a real low-carb diet, but I gained it all back. Now, I don't do low-carb, but rather "carb aware." I…

Hi - I needed to lose 65 lbs. I started earlier this year and have lost 29 lbs so far. I'm determined to make 2013 MY year, so this group is perfect. I have 36 lbs left to lose. I log my food, water, exercise in daily, and I love the MFP community. i've tried everything - WW, Jenny Craig, Atkins, South Beach, Dukan. But,…

Guilty. I used to eat at night and watch TV. Now, I read posts on MFP, enter my foods & no late night eating. I'm also obsessed with logging accurately. If i don't have time to log when I eat, I take a photo to make sure I log it all. Love reading success stories. Addicted.

Easiest one I make is with Mae Ploy sweet chili sauce (at most grocery stores). My kids devour this one. Put some salt & pepper on salmon, add some of the chili sauce, cook skin side down in a pan. No oil necessary - at most spray. Cover, let it cook until half done. Add a little more of the sauce and stick under the…

Thank you for sharing your beautiful story of love and resilience - and success!

For me, it's all about logging. Every time I gained the weight back, it was when I stopped logging my food & exercise. So, here I go again. I've been logging consistently, and that alone makes me feel empowered to keep going, even if I eat too much one day. The key isn't not to cheat or overeat - it's inevitable for those…

Eggs are great, but to save calories and maximize my protein, I prefer having one egg with 2-3 egg whites, instead of two yolks. Having protein snacks curb my appetite. Another one of my go to snacks is non-fat Greek yoghurt with stevia & 1/2 cup of blueberries. I also add a T. of flax seed - total is 175 calories. If I'm…

I make a Dukan "pizza" crust - it has about 22 gr. of protein. Here’s the best recipe I've found so far. Can top with marinara, turkey or soy pepperoni, pesto, vegies, or anything else you like on your pizza (spinach, onions, mushrooms, jalapeno slices . . . ) Tip: Sauté vegies first - use an olive oil spray, such as…

I have 50 to lose too. I was so disillusioned about hitting my highest weight ever - and yes, over 200. I did about a week of Dukan and then slowly eased healthy whole carbs in - logged on MFP the whole time. It worked well - that quick initial loss is encouraging. Discouraged was me two weeks ago, and I already feel so…

Hi - I just joined the group and returned to MFP a week ago, logging my food, exercise, etc. I'm 47, and I gained 20 lbs this past winter. I need to lose 50 pounds total. I love good food, cooking and I'm always experimenting, creating new recipes. I can post some healthy ones later. I'm divorced and ready to get ready to…
