I just got back from a week away, and did better than I had thought! I kept raw nuts with me in my purse the whole time (raw almonds and cashews). I also kept a small (never used) travel shampoo bottle of flavored balsamic vinegar in my purse for salads while I was out, instead of having to eat the fatty-ier dressings from…

I am also interested. I've been trying to eat very clean, and mostly fruits, veggies, beans and seeds. Trying to get my healthiest after two miscarriages.

I've been making this sauce all summer, and using it in or on everything. Soooo good, and very healthful . . . also doesn't use oil, so it is pretty low cal. I bump up the garlic quite a bit; its one of my fav flavors! Sundried Tomato Sauce Ingredients 1 medium tomato, chopped 1/2 clove garlic 1/2 cup sundried tomatoes…

Dear November 2013 Baby Friends, Just wanted to say thanks to everyone I've become friends with on MFP, and who have been very supportive of me. Yesterday's ultrasound confirmed that my baby no longer has a heartbeat, and that I am going through a miscarriage. My husband and I are so very sad. We've been trying for 2 years…

I get skinny lattes all the time. I am not a big dairy person, so I find this a great way to get dairy into my diet. The calories count is about the same as a yogurt.

I always wonder about that, too. WHY does the US have such high calorie counts? When my mother we pregnant in the 80s, they told her to only gain 15-20 pounds. Now they say 25-30 in the US. Babies are on average 2 pounds heavier than they used to be. Why? Seems like way too much weight gain to me in the US

=+( It took me 2 years after I miscarried to get pregnant again. We had been trying forever it seems. I am 5 weeks right now. Crossing fingers to make it through the next few weeks

bumping for later. Want to come back to this!

Thanks for posting! I just rechecked my calories to make sure I am on-track. You know what I find interesting though, in the US, they recommend that normally healthy woman gain 25-35 pounds. But in the UK and Europe, the recommend 17-30. I wonder why here in US they recommend so much more? I read that these weight…

LOL. My husband does the SAME thing!!!! I measure out everything, and pain-stakingly enter my dinners into recipes. When my husband is trying to be nice and offers to cook, I often say thanks but no thanks. I want to know exactly what I am eating! =+)

I don't log my normal day to day picking up around the house . . . . but I DO count my Saturday housework; doing laundry, going up and down the stairs a bunch of times to the laundry room. Then sorting and putting away the laundry, vacuuming, lots of dishes, etc. I spend a LOT of my Saturday getting the house put back…

I bring my own popcorn with me. I use one of my bigger purses, and fill a big ziplock bag. That way I can measure out how much I bring, and control the calorie content. I either pop my own with the air popper, or grab a bag of the 94% ff microwave popcorn

I don't know an answer for sure; but I I used to do Weight Watchers online, and between the flex points and such, it was weekly. They would encourage you to stock pile a few extra calories for a Friday night out for example.

good luck!!!! =+)

Thanks for all the thoughts!!! I wondered what some other folks thought about the topic after a girl friend mentioned that she only records weight if she loses. I think being honest with yourself is the most important thing; whether weight goes up, down, or stays the same! Good luck to everyone!

blue berries pop corn clementines frozen banana frozen grapes frozen mango 90 or 100 calorie snacks (like the fiber one stuff, or Aldi brand packaged snacks)

When the calories are used up, I brush my teeth, and usually turn off all the lights in the kitchen. If I feel like I need to eat something else, I usually got for a cup of sleepy time tea

I stretch soups by adding water or fat free broth, and then more salt, pepper and garlic powder. Hungry Girl has a lot of great tips and tricks like this. You should check out her website and cookbooks

I just think its so interesting to think about, and how society has changed so much over the centuries. You think about the mid-evil times and the Renaissance, and being over-weight was a status symbol! The more you weighed, the higher status and more power you had. Now, the skinnier and prettier you are, the "better"
