It seems you are synthesizing those sources to imply a conclusion that is not clearly stated by the sources themselves. Most of them simply are stating eat "more protein rather" than "eat less carbs lose more weight".

From strictly a weight loss point of view, yes that is correct. It is a law of physics all humans are bound to. Expend more calories than you consume = weight loss.

A daily 1000 calorie deficit is theoretically 2 lbs a week. Not "potentially harmful" at all for someone who needs to lose 73 lbs.

No. The majority of the replies were spot on. The OP already had his mind made up and got super defensive for no reason. He was already convinced he was gaining weight on 1400 calories a day and didn't want to hear anything else that didn't endorse LCHF.

Please explain how eating more would help her lose weight. Especially if she doesn't even know exactly how many calories she is eating to begin with.

I agree with all the above people who have posted. The fact that you admit you might have McDonald's or Pizza and are scared of that means you still have an unhealthy relationship with food. I have plenty of friends who are fit/health and make "bad choices".
