  • Thank you both for your thoughts Haybales - Firstly yes it is a Fitbit hr. My calorie burn this week divided by 7 was 2469 per day but that included a 3hr obstacle race! The previous week averaged at 2397 per day and the one before 2307 Secondly I weighed myself in the gym scales yesterday afternoon. I weigh myself there…
  • Thanks for the reply. I'm 5'8" and 77kg. My TDEE always seems to come in at around 2300, which is close to my Fitbit (although my Fitbit undervalues hiit and weight training so that is why, I think, it's "close" but not perfect!) But then of course I'll have a couple of times a year with a 10k obstacle race where I hit…
  • Sorry, lost track of my thread! It seems totally fine now - it really may just have been low battery. Active minutes were low, but no lower than my usual ones with the same number of steps.... But, conceivably, I may have walked slower on those days when it logged such a low burn - seems unlikely that I would be only just…
  • Oh yes, we will get muddy.... I hope to do a 5km in March as the one I already signed up for in April is 16km (I am a little daunted!)
  • A little update from me- So I have now been at 2150 for 3 weeks. My weight has been steady at around 160lbs for that time (10lbs up on what it was when I started the reset) and my waist is 28" (1" up on what it was). I am now focussing on "cleaning up" what I eat - adding more healthful foods that make me feel good, and…
  • I don't log anything apart from food in mfp - other than weight lifting - I just don't get why it would be so radically different on no-workout days with the same steps and stairs, But I realise now it was very very low in batteries so I wonder if it just wasn't functioning well.
  • So a little christmas update from me..... I am now at 2150 cals per day - more like 1225 over the last few days with Christmas food! And I am not eating terribly "healthily" - while I am not over my calorie output, I am walking a lot and training a lot, so am pretty much at the right level of intake here - bit I manage to…
  • Still feeling fluffy!! Hating the clear gain on my waist. But I am so happy with my extra strength so am focussing on that for now. It is hard, but I think soon I will think about upping a little more. I am worried that I should be adding 15% to my daily calorie estimate - that is what I used to do - you basically assume…
  • Oh help, lovely people. Can you calm me down?? I have gradually increased my calories to 1850...here is my "vague" diary so far (vague as the weeks may be a little out, but the pattern is right): Start -weight 68kg, waist 27" food intake 1200 per day Week 2 - increased food to 1400. weight 69kg, waist 27.75" Week 3-…
  • Thank you, again, for your time and replies. Right. I will weigh then. I will just have to establish a different relationship with than number on the scales and what it means. I will also take your advice on the fitbit, and getting an idea over a week - should have that by sunday, and will work out some numbers then. At…
  • Love this plan... Seems i am doing that without thinking about it - my waist was down by 0.25" this morning, so i felt a lot better about then increasing to 1750 as it feels like my body is settled and happy having had the increase in calories and it feels ok to venture up a bit more. Now, if only i could stop turning to…
  • Thank you for replies and thoughts. To answer your questions, Body fat is est at 25% based on callipers Bmr and tdee is around 1954 on fitbit, and on sccooby ( mifflin ) but 2400 on katch - but that is closer to fitbit on a workout day. I never ever ate back exercise calories, ever. The forum and plan i was following…
  • Sorry, should add, I have an underactive thyroid, but am tested every 6 months and this seems to be ok at the moment.
