Just approach them and say hi...That would have ALWAYS worked on me :)

I also sometimes have a hard time getting motivated. But what I try to do is hit it hard during the work week...I am lucky that I have a schedule that gets me home before the wife and kid...So when I get home from work I head straight to the basement and get in a workout on the elliptical before dinner. Then it has just…

Honestly I think that Penn State got off easy with this one...I think although the punishment is a step in the right direction...It could have and should have been much worse.

DAAAAAAAAMMMMMNNNNNN...looking fabulous

Fat in almonds is the "GOOD" fat that everyone is talking about...Almonds help boost metabolism, give you healthy fats (the kind that are not saturated) and the protein in them helps you feel fuller longer. I LOVE ALMONDS...But I also know that yes although some fat is good for you, you do still want to keep your fat…

I actually found this site AFTER being diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes almost two years ago. I went from a a1c of 11.3 now down to around 5.3. I have not taken meds to control my glucose for about a year now and things continue to stay in the normal range. The biggest thing that I have found is that water and exercise make…

I usually make it a point to NOT eat my exercise calories at least during the week...And then I allow myself one day on the weekend to do that...This way it kind of "jumpstarts" my metabolism and "fools" my body into thinking it needs to burn more.

Lean Proteins and Fiber help you to feel FULLER LONGER...making you less likely to snack or overeat. Water is essential and eating slower is a big help as well...I have been told that it takes your body about 15-20 minutes from the time that you START eating to feel the effects of feeling full or satisfied, that is why the…

I agree with Mike...but there are some nuts that are better than others. I try to stick with about the 1 oz serving (small handful) as well each day and I try to stick with Almonds or Walnuts...High in protien, better on the fat than peanuts or something like that and the walnuts are a good source of Omega 3's

I drinks LOTS AND LOTS of WATER...I was the same way with the munchies to pass the time in the office...Now I always have a full 32 oz water bottle next to me and if I am starting to get those urges to eat something I chug a bunch of water...I also chew on a golf tee...Which I used to help me stop smoking as well.

I agree with Makeachange...It will be different for everyone. Get active, eat right, set your goals and stick with them and I think that you will be surprised how quickly you will see results.

Personally I think that as long as you get exercise in it should not matter when. I shoot for at LEAST 30 minutes each day...And it is usually after dinner in the evenings...Though I sometimes get some extra by taking a walk at lunchtime or going golfing or something. Just get active and make a goal for a certain amount of…

Agree with rtmama...Google and there are alot out there including oats...You want higher fiber and less starch. The more fiber the slower the "sugar" and carbs are released into your system. Also they are more nutritious and not as much of the "empty" calories...AND GOOD FOR YOUR HEART

I weigh myself every Saturday morning, after going to the bathroom, bare assed naked and before I eat or drink anything. I try to stick to weighing ONLY ONCE a weel because of fluctuations which can be frustrating. Also remember that the weight that you are at home will be less than at the Doc's office if you are doing it…

I would for sure say oats because of the fiber in them as opposed to the breadcrumbs which is just carbs.

I live in MN as well...and I don't do as much of the jogging as I do walking...But when it was too cold out or there was too much snow to go walking, I would go to the basement, crank some music and jog in place. Alot of people poo poo the whole jogging in place but I was able to work up a good sweat in Jan/Feb in a cold…

I have always tried to make sure that my meals are right about the same size throughout the day. One thing my nutritionist said is that it is better to eat smaller portions throughout the day as opposed to having one big meal.

It does feel great...I remember how I felt when total strangers that work in my office building noticed and mentioned it to me... Way to go...You should feel very proud

That really is a sucky thing to feel. What I have done...Is my wife and I have an understanding. We have an almost 9 year old son. So I told her that I am fine with them having junk food in the house since I do not want them to have to sacrifice "treats" just because I have to. But when it comes to dinners...We try to plan…

I have been doing just plain old fashioned push ups and that has made a big difference.

I usually use Green Day's "21st Century Breakdown" or the new Foo Fighters "Wasting Light" to get me going...I am afraid that if I listen to ROCKY I am gonna want to punch sides of beef...Done it before and I will do it again

What I learned from my nutritionist was GOLD...Fruit Juice...You can have but you would be alot better to just eat the fruit and get the fiber that it contains...Bananas...I pretty much avoid because they have alot of natural sugars and not alot of fiber...I usually enjoy a crunchy apple with the peel left on...Gets some…

I was diagnosed with Type 2 last July and have found this to be very helpful in tracking my carbs...I know that sugar is not good for me so I avoid it when at all possible but the thing that is EVERYWHERE and harder to watch are Carbs and that is what really affects my glucose readings. My nutritionist told me based on my…

Keep in mind that muscle is about 7x more dense than fat...so you might lose SIZE but as that space starts being taken up by muscle...You might not see as much of a change at the scale. I stopped worrying as much about my weight once I realized I was able to go from a Size 42 pants down to a Size 38 (and those are starting…

I had the same thing happen...Only more symptoms than just being queasy...I think that it is normal...It is kind of a shock to your body when you have not been putting that into it for a while. I had been doing really good and then while on vacation I was out with the fam seeing the sights and we had no choice but to hit a…

Those all sound like sweet drinks...I try to stick with the classic scotch and water...Anything mixed with sugar/sweet mixers for me is a no no...

Totally depends on the size of them...If they were well endowed chickens 2-3...I usually buy a 20oz pack and that is usually 3 large breasts...After trimming the fat and nasty bits I would say it comes out to roughly 1 pound uncooked

Biking can be a GREAT workout both cardio and legs...I am waiting for the thaw here in MN so I can get mine out and start peddling to work.

I usually work out pretty soon after eating dinner. The only reason I want to eat AFTER my dinner is to try and get my glucose levels down before I have to test them (I am Type 2 Diabetic) otherwise I don't think that it matters when you exercise as long as you DO exercise
