I've lost over 100lbs in my 40's and pre-menopausal. Now I'm lifting weights and my metabolism has shot through the roof at 48. This spring I'm looking to try strongman training.

Though it wasn't in my heavier days, but in my marathon runner/triathlete days when I had a super high metabolism, there was this small little shop near my office that sold apple fritters the size of my head and I would get one at least once a week.

Actually I haven't seen any really small weights, but I've only just started and I don't use them.

I workout in a weight/powerlifting gym. They look at you funny if you don't grunt and drop your weights.

Like the others said, it depends. I workout from home, so I'm not worried about spreading germs, but sometimes you need to give your body time to heal. I've tried working out while having a cold, I get through the workout, but only half-assed and I feel worse afterwards. Not worth it.
