Never understood if the facts were bad, why people needed to embellish with fiction to make it sound even worse. That seems to be the case with the OP, which has been floating around for a number of years. Here's the truth from lies: http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/b/butter-margarine.htm

Awesome, way to go! I've got a ways yet to go before I cross that line, but it is certainly a milestone I am very much looking forward too.
-
Right?! There's a buffet across the parking lot of my gym, so you're staring at it through the wall of glass while working out on the machines. The other location has a Burger King right outside the window.
-
When you say "under my calorie goal for each day - but not too far under." what exactly is that? "Not too far" means different things to different people.
-
I'm all over this.
-
I know that many say not to eat late at night, but I usually get hungry before bed as well so I typically save a few calories for a light before-bed snack. Hasn't been terribly detrimental to me thus far.
-
I had a friend make some kind of comment about "boys" and I responded similarly as you did. She said, "men are just boys with less stamina."

Nuts, protein shakes or bars? I eat some bars for snacks that have a good deal of protein in them. Protein also helps you feel full longer.
-
If you're not being a bit crazy about it, then you're probably doing it wrong. Look at where being 'sane' got you!
-
Nope, not at all. Certainly understand the need for differences to account for different locations. And it is not such much a problem for me if the description specifies why the entry exist--I'm really annoyed by those that are clearly custom, but do not say why.

When you scan, if the wrong thing comes up, scroll down. There's a button to search for the right item. It will then re-associate for future scans of the same item. Creating new foods only adds to the shared database if you click the check-box that says to share.

Ah yes, nuts! Can't believe I forgot those. Love nuts, and was really disappointed in just how few were in my 100 calorie Emerald bags.
-
Perhaps starches, such as potatoes?
-
Oh yeah, forgot about the Apple Cinnamon ones--they're delicious! I got them at Meijer.
-
Absolutely. Nicotine is a stimulant, so while smoking, things were sped up a bit. Now that it's gone, your metabolism is slower.
-
Been there. When I quit smoking back in 1996 was when I really started gaining weight. Kudos to you for not waiting as long as I have to do something about it!

From the website, go to Your Food Diary. Click the button at the bottom that says "View Full Report (Printable)". Change the dates at the top to the date range you want to print, then click Change Report. You can then print a week's worth of your food journal!

I started at 285lbs, and while I'm still traveling this journey, I am down 42lbs, so I know I can do it. Looks like you're losing right at 2 lbs as a week, which is awesome! At that rate, you could lose another 92 lbs by the end of December. So why in the world would you doubt yourself about a measly 59 lbs? You've…
-
You'd have to lose about 3lbs a week to meet that goal--not unheard of, but not the easiest thing to do either. Good luck! Make sure you're religious about entering your food and workouts, and make sure you eat enough and you'll do great!
-
Just bought some yesterday, but haven't tried them yet. I've had the Sensible Portions Potato Straws and they are great!
-
Lots of people here are doing it or have done it. Tomorrow is Week 4, Day 3 for me.
-
I like them too, but really hate all the landfill waste in the packaging. I feel obligated to reuse the bowls, thus I do not get them that often.

When you use the "Create Food" button, at the bottom of the form is an option: If you click that box, it goes into the shared database. If you don't, it is only available to you. Glad to see my rant rings true with many others. Was hoping I was not alone! Ultimately it is a trade off for functionality. Would be much fewer…

MFP is just a tool to help you achieve your own goals. So is Weight Watchers. Ultimately, nothing works that you do not fully invest yourself into. If the counting part of WW was what turned you off that program, I am not sure MFP will be much better. However, if you honestly put forth effort and stick with it, MFP…

Great work!

You can edit existing entries to correct them. Search for the food in the Food Database, select it, then click the edit button!

I came very close to having it done over the summer. A friend of mine did. He lost leading up to the surgery, but has not lost but maybe 2lbs in the 3 months since the procedure. As for me, as I was filling out the lap band questionnaire regarding other diets and such I had tried, I realized I really had not seriously…

I've been bit a time or two as well. One that really got me was Jolly Time Healthy Pop Camamel Apple Popcorn--the one with the Weight Watchers endorsement on the box. Just 100 calories (per serving). 2.5 servings per bag. Still, some products get it right though, like the Sensible Portions stuff. Someone please…

The space in the path is causing the problem. "weight loss" Oh, and great work!

It's seems to be a big debate. I almost always eat my extra calories and am doing very well. Some say they have not had success with that. You can always give it a try and see. If it does not work, go back to what you were doing. If it does, yay! I do not agree strictly with the "I eat if I am hungry" approach, because…
