  • I keep stopping too but I am ok with the fact that I keep starting again  . If I stay committed I could be at my goal in just a few months relatively. So that is what I keep telling myself this time. Stick with it so that when we get to maintenance we can indulge a little. But if that schedule gets crazy again with…
  • Imagine Dragons "Night Visions"
  • LMAO! Love it! Yah, I have to work on the cutesy friendly banter stuff. I bring up an issue and I see him shut down. Ce la vie
  • Good job!
  • I get an attitude with the hubs when I see all the cookies and ice cream after he has gone grocery shopping but in fairness he went grocery shopping and has heard me say I wish I had some oreos/ice cream. Now if he could just want to put both feet into the fitness wagon instead of just a pinkie finger and join me in…
  • Awesome thread! Thanks!
  • I am off meds now but I got off of them a few years back. I let my doc know my intentions to get off of meds. She wasn't thrilled about it but she went along with it to test a theory of mine. My theory that my original depression was caused by the onset of hypothyroidism, then taking the anti-depressants caused me to…
  • Yes, check RT3. After 12 years on Levothyroxine, my doc who is increasingly on a holistic track, checked mine for the first time recently. I don't recall the numbers but he switched me to Armour because of it. I was already working on avoiding wheat (beer 'whimper') but completely cut it out due to symptoms and docs…
  • I would definitely try a small bit. And great WWF gif
  • Embrace them! Mine will never be small again since I am not that disciplined and only fit in work outs around work and kids. I am good with that, I have my health and beautiful family. But I know I can smooth them out a bit by reducing my carbs (won't work for everyone) and getting in as much exercise as I can where I can.…
  • Lemon in your water will help with retention and also have you up walking to the ladies room more. Take the long way
  • I am 5'4", 187 wearing a 14 or 16(loose) pant and because of four kids wearing L/XL top. I didn't have these ta tas before kids lol. I have a feeling my hips won't go down in size much but that has yet to be seen. I have only gotten serious again in the last 2/3 weeks since new thyroid med perked me up. Only down 1 lb in…
  • I have this same problem. Between everything being High resolution, wide screen, and or just angled wrong (like . . . pictures just aren't what they used to be. It is my motivation too. I found myself ducking out of family photos and this is bad. In twenty/thirty years I want to see myself in pictures enjoying my family…
  • No cringing! I weigh the same but way older and different body type so I don't look that good in undie pics. Be proud! Good job!
  • ^^ I love this post. I can't get myself to stick with Hypothyroid groups because of all the excuses and in short, whining. I know I will get where I need to be but I have to make the better choices, advocate for myself at the docs, and accept what I don't change.
  • I have hypothyroid due to Hashimoto's. I think this is also the reason for my low iron and vit d deficiency. Working out comes in spurts but pain and busy life get to me so I stop. My general doc must have done some research, saw some info that peaked his interest, or had another patient see him with info but he suddenly…
  • Good luck! I loved when I did a shake diet! I was fabulous for my wedding, but that was 7 years ago. I stopped it to have children. When I tried to start again later it didn't work since my system and health issues changed a bit and I couldn't tolerate it. I suggest having a plan to phase into when you stop taking it…
  • That does suck, been there. Just have to brush it off and aim for that weight that made you happy. Smile at yourself for even working at it and caring enough about yourself. Feeling bad won't really help but use it as a motivator if it helps :) Good luck!
  • I keep seeing on here to eat your exercise calories but that seems to be going more toward a maintenance program. When I got my fitbit tracker and by other posts on mfp, I learned about the calorie deficit and losing weight. Say that you work up to earning 2200 calories a day (a tad easier when the fitbit is tracking every…
  • Mine is Hashimotos but at next physical will ask to be screened for celiac at the prompting of the kids dietician grandmother :). Still you can't deny that avoiding of the baked items and pastas is helpful in weight loss. I will have to have to admit my most recent weight loss is with the help of the Fitbit tracker. I love…
  • I had seen in a few places that gluten free can help with thyroid issues so I had it in my head to try that. It takes a lot of thought and psyching up for me to get it done but in that time I realized I was thicker in the middle certain days and my stomach bothered me. Realized after a pasta meal that it was the trigger. I…
  • Love how walleyclan1 summed it up! I have hypothyroidism, 4 kids 13yrs to 1 yr old, just turned 40. Its been a struggle since baby #2 but I think I finally figured it out. With the calorie deficit finally clicking in my head recently (can eat 1200 cals thru day if burned 1800-2200 thru day), eating less processed foods…
  • If you have only been exercising for the last 25 days you may be replacing fat with muscle which weighs more. Please don't eat less than 1200 cals, that's just not healthy. I eat the extra calories a work out gives me too because I am a busy person who needs energy. Give it time and don't let the scale discourage you. Take…
  • I love margaritas too! I like Marks suggestion all the way. Limit to one margarita, and no not the giant size ones some places have. Still thirsty after then water with lemon which will help you get home safely if driving :). Stick with just the meats and veggies. Staying away from the bread helps afford the margarita :).…
  • I will reiterate what others have already said, Depression sucks. I see medication talk, medication isn't for everyone. They tried several with me and they made me so much worse for years. Much better now after psychotherapy sessions and just accepting that life is what it is. Looking for support the way you are is great.…
  • Congratulations! You both look wonderful! What a great job. Nothing like aging backwards :o). I keep telling myself this would be easier if I could get my Hubby on board but he seems to have no interest :^( So donuts and cookies and candies are always available. I can do good for a bit but then . . . well it doesn't matter…
  • ^^and this! lol Yes, ewww. Where is the "like" button lol.
  • I am with Marilynx and another. I think its gross and the other is hard to keep reading, didn't grab me. I don't find food sexy though either. Right now its a pain in the *kitten* necessity that I can't get a firm handle on for a proper balance. I am sure there are select groups that would enjoy it though.
  • Stick with what your doing! Eat up some of those burned calories! I do 1200 calories a day. If I work out that day and burn 400 calories I will eat closer to 1600 that day. I go to the limit because I NEED that food for energy. Been at it since the first week of June and just finally lost 2 lbs but my clothes fit better.…
