  • How wonderful!! Thank you for sharing your story. You truly are inspiring!! And your pictures are amazing. I can totally relate to the first picture you said you cried over. When my niece completed her PhD, my sister held a graduation party for her. When I saw the pictures with me in them I was horrified!! I knew I had…
  • I am a nurse in an emergency department. Most days I enjoy what I do, traumas and heart attacks are challenging...We see some pretty incredible things...people do the strangest things. The worst part of the job is caring for very sick, injured, or dying children (which thankfully the dying children are few and far between).
  • That I can. I have never been an athletic person...but since making changes and challenging myself to complete C25K, I have found I look at my runs not as "how many more minutes do I have to run..." but "Woo too! I just ran ___ minutes/miles." It really is a great feeling!
  • Awesome job everyone! It is such a great accomplishment! Yes...It is still hard to believe that I can run for 30 minutes! Never thought I would see that day!
  • That's awesome!! Congratulations!!! I just finished my last run on C2 5K today. I agree, I have never been able to run myself, and what a great feeling when I would complete a run...and today was something I had never imagined I could ever do!! I definitely recommend Couch to 5K to anyone who is thinking about stepping up…

  • Woo Hoo!! Just finished my last run of C2 5K program!!! I am currently signed up to do a 5K the end of May and a 5K obstacle course run in July. But am considering picking up any other 5K that might come up. So excited!! Hope everyone had a great week end!
  • Just did my final C2 5K run today!! So psyched! Now just need to work on increasing speed a little, in due time. Never thought I would ever be a runner...but I can do it!! Hope everyone had a great week-end!
  • Love this!! Thanks for sharing!!
  • Congratulations!! Nice mile stone to achieve!!
  • I took measurements when I started feeling like the scale wasn't moving. I wasn't really sure I was doing it correctly, but I do it the same way every time. And seeing changes in the measurements really did help me when the scale seemed at a stand still. I also took comfort in other progress....such as...when I went in for…
  • Thank you for your post! I have been going through almost the same thing. After reading the replies I went back and looked at my own journal posting and realized I very rarely "net" above 700 or 800. Unless it is on a day when I feel like I cheated! I am going to adjust my own calorie intake. I always tried to reach the…
  • Congratulations!! That is truly something to be proud of!! And to run with the kids and the stroller. You are an inspiration to those of us still working our way through the program. Tomorrow I will be running Week 5, Day 3...and I am still amazed at the awesome feeling I feel after completing the run. Thanks for sharing…
  • When I was working on my bachelor's degree full time and working full time, I purchased my text books as digital copies so that I could download them to my iPad. Kindle and Nook may also be options. Sometimes you can even rent them this way. This way I could read while riding an exercise bike, walking the treadmill, etc.…
  • If you are running/walking on a treadmill, I have also heard that setting the incline to 1% will help. When you are set at zero, my trainer said that you are actually walking down hill a bit. So just a touch of incline can help level things off. That said, I have had that pain myself, and have noticed as others replied…
  • I am so glad you posted this! I did the first day of week 5 today, and I really did have to talk myself through the long run! I also had a couple of people mention the mental component of this week. But it is nice to hear it from someone who is right there with me!! Congrats on making it to week 5 and good luck with the…
  • Congrats!! I can't wait to get there!
  • I read the same thing. I am currently walking at 3.5 and running at 4.5 with a 0.5 incline. I was running at 5.0, but I was like the huffing and puffing guys. I also read that C2 5K was designed to teach you breathing and endurance...the speed comes later...So, I slowed myself down and it made a huge difference!!
  • I just finished Week 3, Day 3 earlier today. I got side lined a bit the other day with some lower leg pain after using the elliptical trainer. I was back at it today and felt much better after a couple days off. I even added about 45 seconds to the last run...to make it 3 minutes and 45 seconds...because I felt good. I…

  • Thank you for sharing. You do, indeed, have a success story!! I am much the same...I keep staring at the scale, hoping to see the numbers move down. Some of my clothing fits better...some has become too big...but I find I keep fixating on the numbers. I can see changes in my body, and I feel better about myself. I am…
  • Simply wonderful!!! Thank you for sharing your journey!!!
  • Wow!! Fantastic!!! You are very inspirational!!!
  • Thank you everyone for sharing! I don't have a favorite recipe...but I am hoping one of yours will become a fav!!
  • I sent a friend request through Striiv...let me know if you don't receive it! Thanks!! Looking forward to adding you to my list!
  • Awesome story!!! Thank you for sharing!
  • I ABSOLUTELY understand!! Thank you for posting...I didn't realize how many people understood my feelings about this. I always felt like I was crazy for being disappointed when I couldn't coverup completely with my bath towels. At home I have bigger towels that do reach, but in our camper (and in hotels) the towels are…
  • Congratulations!! You look fantastic!! You should show off!! and I hope you are super proud of yourself!!! Thank you for sharing!!
  • Awesome! I sent you a friend request on Striiv...and here as well!! Thanks!
  • Wow!!! Amazing transformation!! Congratulations, all your hard work has paid off!!
  • Thanks for all the great input!! I haven't started back up yet...I had a different type of injury side line me...But this week end I am going to stop at the running store and talk to someone there to make sure my sneakers are proper...and I will take the advice about slowing down the progression a little bit. Like…
  • I weigh myself daily as well....and I also log the loss and don't log the gain. That would set me back!! As long as I keep going down...that is what matters.
