  • Hi everyone, I'm new too! I finished my first fast day yesterday on 508kcal and it was easier than I'd expected (though I'm no stranger to VLCDs so one day at a time seems like a breeze compared to weeks and weeks of meal replacement shakes!). I'm eating slightly below TDEE on my weekday NFDs so that I can eat a bit more…
  • Glasgow here. Did really well and lost 40lbs in 2012, kept it off in 2013 and put half of it back on in 2014. Here's hoping I can actually get to and stay at goal in 2015...
  • Hot DAMN, I'd kill to look like your before picture, never mind your after! Good job, you look great!
  • Bump. I'm seriously looking at doing a Whole30 through September. I'd love to start straight away but I have two dinners out with friends planned and a three night holiday in Spain at the end of the month. Once those are out of the way I'll be making a shopping list and hoping for even half of the results you got -…
  • I get this too, on the right side of my chest and up to my shoulder. I worried about it until I found out that it's "referred pain" from my diaphragm. Basically, instead of getting a stitch in my side, the phrenic nerve causes pain in my right shoulder. I rarely get it now because I've learned to breathe properly when…
  • I think losing a considerable amount of weight - especially if you've been overweight most of your adult life - can be life-changing in every aspect. If you take a year to really focus on yourself and your goals, you might wake up one day and find that your dreams/priorities have changed. I would NEVER cheat though, I…
  • 1) Age: 24 2) Height: 5' 5'' 3) Weight: Currently 193lbs with my highest weight at 220lbs, though I was down to 181lbs at the end of 2013. Don't ask what happened there...! 4) Lifestyle (how much exercise, etc.): Running at least 5k three mornings a week, 60 minute bootcamp classes 3-4 times a week 5) Calories / day: 1600-…
  • I'm in! I'm currently 193lbs and I want to be 165-170lbs by mid-November for my trip to NYC so that I won't delete all of the photos with me in them this time haha. I'm travelling from the UK so I'd like to have some reminders of the trip this time!
  • My early workouts are running in the street so I go to bed around 10.30pm and my alarm goes off at 6am. I give myself ten minutes to fully come round and then I'm up, dressed, teeth brushed, a banana eaten and out the door for 6.20am. I listen to anything that's on my phone but at the moment I'm favouring Bastille, and Ed…
  • I can't laugh about this yet but it was definitely embarrassing. My ticker was down to 40lbs lost at the end of 2013 but I gained half of that back due to various reasons. Anyway, I was in Paris with my boyfriend at the beginning of May and I had spent the previous few days feeling fat, frumpy and uncomfortable. One day we…
  • I definitely do 11, as horrible as it is! I never remember to take a tissue and three miles in the sniffing starts...
  • I remember seeing a photo taken at my 18th birthday party and feeling physically ill. I was standing side-on, hugging my friend around his waist, and my arm looked HUGE, like a Christmas ham! I can laugh about it now but that was the moment that showed just how big I'd gotten. I knew I was overweight but I'd convinced…
  • I do genuinely believe that overweight people can be beautiful and weight does not automatically mean ugly. I'm losing weight because I've been smaller than I am now and I know how much better and more confident I felt then, and I want to get back to that. I'm enjoying feeling fitter and healthier but I'd be a liar if I…
  • Glasgow :) I'm 5' 5'' and 193lbs, looking to shift another 50-60lbs.
  • I had the implant for 18 months and managed to lose 21lbs in that time. I actually found it to be easier to control my weight with the implant than with the pill.
  • Great post. I was eating 1350 a day and it was absolutely awful so I raised to 1550/1600 and I'm so much happier. My losses are more consistent and I no longer have headaches or moodswings. Yes, it might take longer but I know that I'll stick to it if I'm not miserable.
  • I take 1200mcg of Biotin a day and haven't noticed it making a difference :)
  • 5' 4'' SW: 220, UK 20 trousers, UK 18 tops/dresses CW: 199: UK 16 trousers, UK 14 tops/dresses I'm not sure what that is in US sizes... I think a UK 16 is a US 12?
  • Yeah, I think that it's dangerous for fruit to be "free" on the new WW plan as fruit is absolutely packed full of sugar and carbs! A large banana can have 150 calories in it, so I'm not sure how WW can allow them to be unlimited. As for the woman who only ate veg - can you imagine how ill she must have been?! No protein,…
  • I did Slimming World for a while and really liked it, but changed jobs and flats and it became too much hassle to get to a meeting. Then I discovered MFP and here we are! Yes, technically you are "allowed" to eat as many carbs as you fancy but they are trusting your judgement when it comes to portion control. Obviously you…
  • My boyfriend and I only live 50 miles apart but because he works 6am to 2pm while I work 9am to 6pm, it just isn't worth one of us getting a train through to spend a grand total of two hours together! Because of this, we only see each other once a week, when he stays over on a Saturday night. I tried to eat what he was…
