Too little information to give good advice. How big is your calorie deficit? If your calorie deficit is very small, than it's easy to eat the calories all back in a "bad" day. Especially with calorie dense food like cheese. What you eat is not as important as how much you eat (regarding wheight loss). If you can controll…

Diet = looking good with clothes on Diet + workout = looking good without clothes From my experience diet+workout was always "slower" because I lost less muscle mass. But after losing 10kg without workout I don't look as good as losing 8kg with workout ;)

Calorie level is more important. If you stay on a deficit you will lose weight. After calorie deficit I only aim for a good protein level. I also try to get vitamins, minerals etc. in my diet. I pretty much don't care about carbs or fat. Plateaus happen. Sometimes for very long time. Don't get discouraged! Best way to…

I have a very similar problem. I eat a lot when I'm stressed. And when that happens it usually leads to over eating the next day and the next day and so on. And boom there goes my diet. I realized that I can only stop the binge eating when I have the right mindset. Only when I'm 100% commited to my diet can I stop myself…

Thanks for the answers everybody!

Awesome! How long did it take you to lose that weight? When did you start working out? Right away? Do you have any problem with loose skin? Probably not at your age.

Exactly my thoughts

Eating "healthy" is a not a clear cut definition. If you want to lose weight it's more important how much you eat (calories) than what you eat. As long as you get all the macro/micro nutrients, vitamins etc. you need. I found that after dieting a while and reducing the ammount of food, my tastebuds changed. A lot of…

I find IF much easier to follow when I try to lose wheight. To me it comes naturally. I prefer skipping lunch and having a "normal" size lunch and dinner over three small meals.

Drink it ;) Here is an article by Martin Berkhan about the topic I found useful: The truth about alcohol, fat loss and muscle growth I really agree with his statement: "However, despite being a potent inhibitor of lipolysis, alcohol/acetate alone cannot cause fat gain by itself. It's all the junk people eat in conjunction…

Drink diet soda if you enjoy it :) I think it's very important that you feel good while dieting. Don't try to deprave you of things that you like. Since diet soda has zero calories it won't conflict with your diet goals. So it's easy to incorporate in your diet.

I check other websites like: fddb.info that host "calorie databases". fddb is a German website ... there are probably better choices for UK/US. Just google "calorie database" Google search itself returns calorie values for some food

I have lost weight several times and gained it back again. (Last time I lost ~25kg with MFP and gained 9kg back.) I find losing weight much easier than maintaining. Usually I reach my goal. But after a while bad habbits return. I have no time how to stop this process. But at least the intervals that I maintain my weight…

Try to hit your calorie goal. If you eat too little it can backfire. Keeping a good diet is a marathon not a sprint. You can add some calorie dense food / snacks during the day. Like nuts.

Yeah. Sorry. But you're wrong. It is a myth. Like the other poster already pointed out. A pound of muscle mass burns ~6kcal. That is not "exponentially" ;) Gaining 5kg/10lbs of pure muscle mass would burn an extra 60kcal. That is less than 3% of my BMR. Does that sound "significant" to you? I burn more during 10min of my…

I can think of a lot of reasons: For a lot of people it is very difficult to be disciplined enough to diet. It's easier to reach one goal first before adding another. So they concentrate on the diet first. Cardio is easier for a lot of people. If you already know how to run/cycle/swim/row etc. It is way easier to do a lot…

I did not own a TV for ~9 years. Bought one when my girlfriend (now wife) moved in and insisted that she wants one. Without TV I read a lot more, went out more, went earlier to bed etc. I did not miss anything. If you want news then radio + internet >>>> TV. If it wasnt for my wife I would prefer a nice projector for DVDs…

You have not logged anything since last thursday?! And you aim for 1200kcal but waste your calories on coke, cheetos and granola bars. This will result in having less calories for the rest of the day and feeling deprived. Loosing weight is a marathon; not a sprint. Dont get discouraged after the first few kilometers. And…

I would love to eat alone. We have to little kids. And when the food arrives it's 100% guaranteed that one of them has to go to the toilet. I have not eaten warm food in a restaurant for a few years now. Enjoy :)

1. Discipline to really count everything I ate. 2. 1200kcal 3. Cycling Weigh yourself every day but dont pay too much attention to your daily weight. Your weight graph of the last week or two weeks is way more important. Weight can fluctuate + scales are not 100% accurate. But your weight graph should show you a clear…

Typical meal is anything between 200 and 900. I dont think a 1600 kcal meal is unhealthy. If you stay within your calorie limit it's all fine.

If you really hate breakfast you should just try to skip it. Maybe intermittent fasting is the way for you.

I am 5'9 male 83kg. On a 1200kcal diet for 7 weeks now. Two things help me: intermittent fasting and (sometimes) replacing meals with protein shakes. Plus I eat half of my exercise calories back. Going to up my calorie goal when I am at 80kg.
