The main aim of a recovery drink is not feeding proteins to your body! After a workout you are usually dehydrated, your insulin is low and your glycogen depots are depleted. Plus a few hormones are on a high level (cortisol) etc. The job of a recovery drink is to correct this. - Hydration is obvious. Insulin too. It helps…

Pleasure. Btw. If it tastes too sweet or it has too many kcal than just add less cacao. Rule of thumb: protein/carbs should be between 1:2 and 1:4. (1:4 is the typical relation in commercial recovery drinks).

Low-fat ready made is fine. Don't know the brands in the UK. EDIT: or make it yourself. 300ml 1,5% milk + 30-40g cacao powder.

You base your opinion on what exactly? It has been scientifically proven that a ~60 min time window after a workout is most efficient for refueling your body. Where do you get the "1%-2%" number from? Random.org?

Chocolate milk is a good and cheap recovery drink. There have been several studies conducted that prove this point. Example: International Journal of Sport Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism, 2006, Bd. 16 (1), S. 78–91 Further Reading on the topic: Nutrient Timing. Basic Health Publications, 2004 Journal of Sports Science,…

HRM is more accurate. Weight is an important part of the calculation. Plus: there are several calculators on the web. Look around. You'll find a lot of different numbers. They are all just approximations. If you plan on eating back calories. Then I would go with the lowest number.

This There are so many great exercises that you can do with your body alone. Maybe you add a chair, a broomstick or some form of…

Focus on calories. Eat healthy and balanced. There is lots of good advice in this thread (on protein, workout etc.) My 2cents. Your body burns sugar. It's much easier to produce sugar from carbs than from fat. In order to transform fat to sugar your body is working harder. That's why your body absorbs less calories from…

Are you doing something wrong? Yes. You're trying to lose weight. You have already your ideal weight. If you want to feel better try to eat according to your recommended intake (1500cal) and workout. Measure your bodyfat/lean mass. Maybe you're "skinny fat"? Seriously. Do some fitness. Preferrably strength training. Not…
