  • I am also a single mother and have found that something I have to be creative to get my work outs in. I started my workouts with Jillian Michaels 30 day shred or Ripped in 30. They are only 25 min workouts (It says 20 min on the DVD , but with warmup and cool down it's 25). I would do these workouts after my son went to…
  • Welcome to MFP. I hope you will soon love this site, like I do! This a great place with lots of motivational people who are willing to help! Being honest with your calories is the first place to start. And don't beat yourself up if you go over your calories for a day....accepting this one was hard for me even on my cheat…
  • I am currently doing Couch to 5K...even though I don't plan on doing one anytime soon! If can already run a mile, you could start on week 4 of the program. I don't know if that is recommended, but the program is designed for someone who does not run at all when they start. I found the first 2 weeks very easy and I hadn't…
  • I recently finished 30 DS. I did the first 10 days with no breaks. The last few days of the 10 were horrible, I had no energy, so I wasn't burning a lot of calories. I started taking a break once a week and I had more energy to do 30DS the rest of the week. I still had great results in the end. I lost more inches than…
  • I know all about being a busy woman! I work full time and I am a single mother to a 4 year old. I also workout 3-4 times a week on my lunch break or when ever I can fit it into my work day. Then go home to get dinner ready, clean...etc. I also try to fit in some Jillian Micheals workout a few times a week after the kid…
  • My sister was doing Body by Vi and was told by the sales rep that she lost all her weight without exercise. For two months my sister drank her 1-2 shakes a day and didn't loss any weight. Now she has joined MFP with me and is losing weight with exercise. She still has her one shake for breakfast since she paid for all the…

  • Every week I make about 2 to 3 recipes from skinnytaste.com. I have yet to find a recipe that I didn't like. The soups recipes are wonderful. The low cal baked potato soup is my favorite.
  • Love your humor! All I could think about is how I can't wear shorts either....I live in Vegas where the summers are like living in hell and would love to wear them one day!!! I like that someone is like me and can laugh about it but still know they got to do something about it. Friend request sent...I can use the humor…
  • Ok, I may have lied (not on purpose) but I just did a search for 30DS and I didn't find it. I thought it was in there because my sister logs it for her exercise, but maybe she just added it as an exercise for her database, since she uses a HRM. I was in a group on MFP that was doing 30DS together and it looked like people…
  • I recently finished all 30 days of the 30DS. I entered it as circuit training-general, but used a HRM for my calories burned. When I started I was 13 pounds heavy then I am now and was out of shape. I would burn around 300 calories during the first week and a half. As I lost weight and got into better shape, I was burning…

  • I do my second workout around 8 (depending on when the kids goes to sleep), only 25 mins of 30DS. I have found that it does take me longer to fall asleep about 2 hours after I finish working out. But once I fall asleep, I am out for the rest of the night. If I do have problems sleeping, I take a single dose of melatonin…
  • I have found that most people on MFP are supportive and motivating. I am not always the best cheerleader...full time work and being a single mother takes a lot of my time. But I am always looking for support also. Feel free to friend me, if you would like to.
  • Starting Level 3 tonight! Excited for the next level of Jillian's craziness!
  • I am 5'10"! I always feel like a giant around my female friends....even some of my male friends!
  • I was going to start Ripped in 30 after 30DS. I was thinking of giving myself a few days break, then start around the 26 or 27th of Sept....saying that I finish 30DS in time. I am on Day 13 now, will do day 14 tonight....so I am on track to finish on 23 Sep.
  • Adding now! I am currently doing Jillian's 30 day shred...just finished day 12 and loving it. Next will be Ripped in 30!
  • I use my HRM every time I work out or even if I am just going on a walk with my kid. Since I do at home DVDs and have started running on a track, this is the only way I can get an "accurate" measurement of calories burned. I find my calories burned are higher on the HRM then the generic number you get in the exercise log.…
  • I tell anyone who asks me how I am losing weight (the first place I loss is my face, so everyone thinks I have lost more than 7 pounds). Since telling co workers and friends, 3 of them have joined and we are all supportive of each other and share some great recipes. My boyfriends knows that I am doing it and is very…
