Logging as general circuit training grossly overestimated caloric burn for me. You really should get a heart rate monitor! For level 1 with 3lb weights, I only burned 140 calories for the 24 min workout. I weigh 135 so your burn will be higher, but it's hard to say how much higher.

hang in there. it can be tough. I have severe crohn's and have to eliminate fibrous foods from my diet. there are still plenty of healthy things out there. I do greek yogurt, eggs, string cheese, chicken breast, fish, tuna, turkey, small amounts (85g or less) of iceberg or romaine lettuce, unsweetened applesauce, small…

2 comments: lunch looks really light - what is that, 30 calories? I would need some kind of protein (lean meat or cheese) or fat (guac or olive oil/vinegar) to get through my day. the smoothie sounds like dessert. fruit is sweet - you don't have to add oil, peanut butter, and more sugar (honey). I'd pick *one* of those…

fage 0% unsweetened greek yogurt w/ 1TB honey and cinnamon. tastes like dessert but 18g of protein and 160 calories.

Fage plain greek yogurt 0% fat.

Don't worry about "starvation mode" - I had surgery and couldn't eat Sun-Thursday then made the slow transition from clear liquids to Crohn's acceptable foods. I struggled to get in 1,000 calories for a while there. I lost weight and continue to lose - no stalling of my metabolism (and I'm eating a normal amount of…

I've lose a few pounds (and a lot of inches!) on a gluten free diet, but most people who go GF gain weight because they end up replacing wheat with processed GF products that are more calorie dense. Like others have mentioned, eating at a deficit helps you lose weight. Cutting out breads and pastas from my diet does help…

I went from a size 8-10 to a size 4-6 after my surgery this Feb (Crohn's disease caused a perforation, fecalization of my small bowel contents, abscess, and multiple obstructions). I'm with you that I like the way I look better (I wanted to lose ~15 lbs before surgery) but weight loss from illness isn't quite as…

I also eat one of these GF muffins as a dessert (I spread a thin layer of jam on them), but they could work for breakfast on the go. 2 large organic free range eggs, separated 1/4 c oil (I used grapeseed oil) 1/2 c honey 1 tbsp vanilla extract 1 tbsp fresh squeezed lemon juice 2 1/2 cups blanched almond flour 1/2 tsp salt…

I am gluten free too! I enjoy: turkey bacon and an egg banana/almond milk/almond butter/cinnamon smoothie eggs scrambled w/ cheddar or blue cheese rice krispie cereal + almond milk

I have Crohn's and they were able to pick up multiple signs of the disease on a CT - the confirmation came from tissue biopsy when 1.5 feet of my small intestine was removed. I'd think that if the disease was active enough to cause you to go to the ER, a CAT scan would have found *something* - obviously you should see a GI…

MFP has doubled the calorie burn my heart rate monitor actually calculates. 1,000 calories sounds high for an 80 minute work out - most people don't burn 750 calories/hr unless they're working out at a *very* intense level (I can't even get there, personally).

1,470 calories (but I usually eat an extra 150-200 cals on exercise days) I only have 9 lbs to lose so I'm on the 1/2 lb/wk setting. 5'4" Edit: exercising goal is 3-4 days a week. I don't have an average to share yet because I just started exercising again last week. So far I've worked out every day.

81% of people who switch to GF gain weight, so don't fall into the trap of replacing gluten with other GF junk. I've cut out gluten and take it easy on GF products (only homemade and only for treats). It's been one month and I have far more energy, my mood is improved, I *think* my acne is better, and I've lost 2 inches…

I've been gluten free since March 18 - so far I feel great and my measurements are changing (although I'm eating less too). I did it out of medical necessity - I have Crohn's disease and gluten was causing some issues. I miss it at social events when others are munching away but I don't really miss it at home or in my…

my GI told me to avoid fat for that reason - it's hard for our bodies to digest, and during a flare we need to give 'em as much of a break as possible. I've gone gluten free, low residue, and I stick to lean meats since my bowel resection last month (and getting diagnosed with the disease) I've noticed a huge reduction in…

the pink dress looks a little dated - very 90s to me. the gold looks too close to white for a wedding, and I think the style makes it look a little like a prom dress. I LOVE the black on you - it really shows off your body and is very classic.

what about squatting and doing the punches during the cardio portions you cannot do?

great idea - thanks for sharing!

If I didn't eat back my exercise calories, I would net 438 calories for the day and that can't be healthy. MFP only has me on 1,300 calories so I try to eat back a good portion of my exercise calories with lean meat, whole grains, low fat cheese/yogurt, or a protein shake most recently (made w/ 1 cup almond milk, 1 scoop…

thanks! yeah, the high heart rate is a combo of not working out for a year... eek. and being anemic. I have less O2 in my body so I'm guessing my heart has to pump a lot harder than usual. I'm on iron replacement therapy right now so hoping to get that in check as well. I need to read up a little on the dangers of my heart…

great, thanks all. now I need to figure out some healthy high calorie options - ha.
