  • I know the post is 2 weeks old but let me add my 2 cents. I am an intermediate/advanced rider and I have been this for a while. My suggestion is to get properly fitted and then look around, fit is critical for a good ride. Also, try to ride as many demo's as possible, this will help narrow your decision down to what best…
  • I have a Suunto as well, which I have had for about 8 months. When I work out the longer I work out it seems the calories increase at a higher rate, but it would not explain the large discrepancy. I believe Suunto uses a different calorie counting algorithm, this may explain the discrepancy. As I understand there is also…

I have had it for about 1 month, still trying to learn how to use some of the features, but the basic features are pretty easy to use. I did alot of research on Heart Rate monitors before I purchased, the…

  • I am interested in seeing some other responses, I am in the market for an HRM and I have limited my search between Suunto (T4d, T6d) and a Polar. I have noticed that Polar has switched some of there units to "user battery replaceable", but they still don't recommend it do to the water proof seal. As for the Suunto, I am…
  • Yes, I got bored even at a large Gym. I added interval training which keeps me focused on the exercise and helps increase my cardio, it also adds a nice break to the boring treadmill, stationary bikes routines that I use. I usually do 2 intervals a week, they can be pretty intense. Other than that I listen to the ipod…
  • I just started using protein shakes within the past couple of weeks. The protein shakes help curb my appetitie, but I do not use it as a meal substitute, so I compensate the calories. I typically have two shakes a day, once after workout for muscle recovery the other after lunch or afternoon snack. I have seen suggestions…

During the on-season, I get to the gym at 6:00AM then get 1.0 hour workout, but I lunch time I typically do an 8 mile course on a singlespeed mountain bike, this typically takes about 50 minutes…
