I have the Ultra (now discontinued and replaced by the One). My calculated TDEE and the Fitbit average calories are pretty darned close. I love my Fitbit! There's just something about seeing those #'s...

I have the Fitbit Ultra (now discontinued & replaced by the One I think). I love it! It helps me be more active :-) It's motivating for me to watch the # of steps go up and I get excited hitting my 30 minutes of "Very Active" every day

My biggest food lesson to date: Some foods are not worth the calories. When I splurge, it's going to be a splurge on foods I love. No more eating just to eat.

No matter how slow you're going, you're still lapping everyone on the couch.

You can do this! Reach out and ask the staff for help if you have a question. If you aren't sure about machines, try a group exercise class. If you have the money, try to get a few sessions with a trainer. I've been in and out of gyms for years but the gym recently added some new cardio machines. I'm going to ask how to…

Rachel was 19% BF before she left the ranch and weighed 150 lbs. There's no way NBC would release her current BF at 105 lbs.... But I digress. My guess is around everyone else's - probably 20%-ish? And you look fantastic!!

I'm getting married May 31, 2014! I've lost about 25 pounds since August and would like to lose another 15 before the wedding. I'm losing slow - goal of about 1 lb/wk. I started my journey before he proposed and it will continue after we're married. I truly want to make the lifestyle changes that will help me be fit and…

Well, I started back to the gym and logging food before he proposed but now with planning a wedding for May 2014, it's GAME ON! Ordered my dress about 2 weeks ago! I'm not working towards a specific weight by W-day but I want to continue to be healthier and work on getting stronger. That confidence will shine through in…

I live in Knoxville, too! I don't know what Biggest Winner is but I'll have to look in to it! Congrats :-)

My trainer asked me to start eating 5 meals a day instead of just 3. I'm doing it and it has helped my day a lot. I'm less hungry at lunch or dinner and it's helped me keep my overall calories in check. Keeps my energy up during the day. So I eat a snack at around 10 am and 3 pm now whether I'm hungry or not.

Congratulations! That is so exciting!!

You *should* be proud of you! Congrats on resisting the sausage cheese biscuit :) go you!!

I don't review on Google anymore because they publish your full name. It's ridiculous! I'd contact a superior at the company you reviewed and maybe the better business bureau, too.

my goal is about 1600/day and I found that if I saved too many for dinner, I was a bit of a bear. I usually go for around 500 calories.

thank you for this post! I'm coming off of my anti-depressants in an effort to decrease medications (to save money, be healthier,, etc) and I believe I can make a go of living all on my own. I'm worried about rough times though. I've been on an anti-depressant for 11 years... I'll have to try some of these suggestions!!

You should both read it. Other than just learning the different languages, I thought it was interesting that the language you speak/give may not be the language you hear/need. Edit to add -- the author is a Christian and recognizes that you should love your wife as Christ loved the church. This book answers exactly the…

For your height, 130 is not the high end of the healthy range. According to the NIH BMI charts, at 5'6" the normal weight range would be 118-148. Check the charts you are using to detemine a healthy weight. For the average person, BMI is an okay indicator. Someone mentioned their trainer is obese. That's not the average…

Clear away the legal situation my brother is in. Get him off drugs for good. Get him in school or help him find a job in which he could be happy and successful - not $$ successful but successful in feeling you've accomplished something, worked hard and pushed yourself to be better. He's only 19 :(
