  • I don't know... for petite women frame really makes big a difference. Some charts say that at 5'1" I should weigh less...My Human Helath plan even suggested 117 was the weight I should strive to reach but I just think that's way too low for my medium frame...For someone with a small frame sure maybe that's okay. So take…
  • Are you eating a total of 1400 and exercising too? If that's the case you mightnot be eating enough. Depending on your height and weight 1400 can be on the low end....heesh I'm short at 5'1 and currently weigh 129 and I can lose on 1500 exercising only 4 days a week. I suggest you figure your BMR to make sure you're not…
  • If you're doing 30 Day Shred and you didn;t really work out before you're probably pretty sore after a good workout right? This mean your muscles are working hard an they have to repair after every workout. How do they do this....they need lots of protein and they actaully reatin more water as they try to repair....and you…
  • So how many calories are you eating per day? Maybe you're not eating enough. I think you have to add calories when breastfeeding and if you didn't add those into your equation you could be netting below your BMR and might have just satlled out. If you're hungry all the time it's a sign that you might not be eating enough.…
  • Yeah I find that 1200 is pretty low even for petite women. It may be giving you 1200 a day b/c you set your goal at 2 pounds a week. Your profile says you have about 20 pounds to go so really you should be shooting for a more gradual weight loss. Try changing your goal to 1 pound a week and see how that works.
  • Are you weighing or measuring your food? Youd be surprised at how much you actually eat when you measure things out. Ceareal is a great example I pour what I sused to think was a serving a normal bowl for me and it was almost twice what the package said was a serving. So if you are not measring you should start. Speaking…
  • Top on my list is an amazing boyfriend. I really like the no money worries post above so I'm going to borrow that for #2. And of course peace, love and joy. :)
  • If you hadn't exercised in a while and just started JM Shred are you pretty sore? Most poeple would say yes at least a little....that means your muscles are being worked and trying to repair...part of that repair will be retaining some water. So my guess is that is what those 2 pounds are. At first the scales may not move…
  • So why do you wna to increase your protein? I mean I'm all for it but you seem to just be grasping at staws.... Some good reason are b/c i helps you stay full longer, or it helps to rebuild muscle.... I don't do shakes right now b/c it's cold and I' just can;t force myself to do it ...but I used ot and it helped repair my…

  • Yes everyone is unique. If you post your height, weight, age, activity level and goals I'm sure you'll get some advice tailored just for you if that's what you are looking for. One point I'll comment on can you build muscle in a deficit....wel no not really but for ladies we probably don't wan tto build much anyway. I'm…
  • Good to know! I think my LBM is just under 100...say 97-98ish so I think I have about the right amount now at 25% which is 45g so that's a tad low....but I won't fel bad if I go over by a few =) Usually when I go over it's b/c I'm trying to get my protein up and high portein snacks seem to have higher fat…
  • Yes. Sorry guys...going over. lol I checked what my goals are set to and it was only 20% fat! Must have done something wonky when I changed wo 1500 a day. So No wonder I felt that was a bit low. I know I've had some higher fat choices but I try to balance it out and somehow it just wasn't working I suspect it was the 20%…
  • Didn't read all the responses but....for me I've found (been on and off bc sveral times) When I go on bc and I'm watching my weight it doesn't have any negative affects. If I go on bc and I'm in a "I don't give a rats behind" phase I usually gain and then it's just much harder to take the weight off. I fI go off bc I find…
  • It may not be ruined....but you are correct in that it might be a littelloff right now. Every year you age it's going to get a tiny bit harder to get the weight off so good for you for starting now. If you've been crash dieting for an extended period of time (ie eating 1200 calories a day or less for months) you may need…
  • 15 days isnt enough time. Your bosy is getting used to this new calorie intake. How long were you at the 1200 calorie level? If you were stuck there for months it's going to take a while before your body really believe you're getting enough and are going to continue that. Just hang in there. If you don't see any changes in…
  • We need more info like your current age, height, weight and activity levels to really be able to give a good answer.
  • Quick answer is probably yes. It depends on how much other activity you have ...ie do you have a desk job or are you more active during the day...as to how much. MFP estimates your BMR to be 1483 so at sedentary (which at 20 I'm guessing you're not) your TDEE would be 1780. So if you're evercising on top of that then…
  • Yep I agree it sounds good. I'm 5'1 and that's what my daily goal is. You might want to add some weights though and try eating more protein. That will help tone up the muscles you have....because at 120 I'm doubting you really have much fat/flab to speak of and you'd be much happier if you were more toned.
  • This^^^^ Honey every one has that problem when the suit isn't quite the right one for them...even underwear cause this when they are too snug...keep trying till you find one that is just right...It's not you it's the suit!
  • HaHa Okay...No really I love all you guys. you're probably right and maybe genetics areon my side my sister is a life long distance runner and her legs are amazing so hopefully someday I'll get there. =) I have heard that running on my toes won't help my claves get any slimmer and I swear right now they are bigger than…
  • Thanks Dana. I forgot I think I had my goals set higher...but jsut to checkI put in .5 pound and it gave me 1400 calories per day witht he normal eating back exercise calories....right now 1300 (and eating bcak exercise calories) doesn't seem to be doing th trick....so I'm hesitant to go with the pre-set calculations. I'd…
  • Yes, if your BMR is between 1600-1700 and you've been eating routinely less for a long time you do need to increase this. Eating only 1200 a day usually works for a while but you get to a point where your body is just done...and very hungry. I know it seems backwards but I would suggest eating at maintenance for a couple…
  • I ahven't bought a wedding dress but I did use to work at a bridal store and did lots of alterations. Unless the dress has to be special oprdered in your size you don't need a whole year...but it just depends on what you want. My advice is to reasses your goals and be very realistic. You've lost 22 already....good job…
  • Are you only eating 1200 or are you netting 1200? If you are only eating 1200 and then burning off a bunch say 500 then you are only leaving your body with 800 to use for the day and that's not enough so it's going to conserve any fat store you have. I suggest you find your BMR and try to NET around that number every day.…
  • I'm thinking more pilates won't help your thighs. I'm 5'1" but I have a curvy shape so my goal is higher but I understand where you're coming from. I would suggest you try to NET your BMR ( if you do this and exercise you'll still be at a deficit from your TDEE) and up your protein macro to more than the MFP original…
  • I know this isn't what you asked.....but for your height and weight if you regularly burn 400 then 1200 isn't really enough (even net). It has probably worked so far as it often does at forst when you have more than 30 pounds to lose, but eventually it stops and people get frustrated and give up. I don't want that to…
  • Wow! Great ideas ladies! I have quite a list of stores to visit this weekend! =)
  • Yep. I think you said it perfectly. You got it. The less you weigh the less calories you need so the gap between TDEE and BMR shrinks and makes it harder to lose large amounts. That why you always see people saying you change your goal to 1 pound or .5 pounds as you near your goal weight.
