  • Um. Today was pretty awesome. I had off work and did a bunch of yard stuff, then went to gym to stretch and soak in hot tub. Had my head phones on listening to Avenue Q soundtrack. Song "the internet is made for porn" came on and the guy on the mat a few feet away tapped me on the shoulder and said, "I like porn too, but…
  • I use an olive oil and goats milk soap. I buy them from Lori's soaps online. They work on my dry skin that lives through Wisconsin Winters... and Packer Games.

  • Make veggies feel like something else. I make rutabaga "french fries" They look like fries. I also do a lot of baking root veggies (w/ olive oil and season) and steaming veggies (w/ olive oil and seasoning). Also, putting fruit on your salad makes it seam less, rabbity. Add some berries, grapes, apple, pear or pineapple.…
  • I had extra time so I did cardio and weights at the gym!
  • Change it up. The weather is getting nicer, skip the gym one day and go for a walk or a bike ride. Or simply indulge a bit. I had a Starbucks brownie and a latte Sunday and still was under my calorie goal. That was nearly 700 calories!

If you know you are going to indulge having a go to is nice. the nuggets also reduces my carb v. a burger. Rutabags are actually good. they will…
  • are you eating enough? don't put your body into starve mode. you wont lose anything.
  • It is okay to be under calorie goals. MFP will let you know if you are eating to few calories. Just make sure your calorie deficits are not leaving you too far under your goals for protein or fat.
  • do you have a jogging stroller? if so put the baby in the stroller (weather permitting) and run with the baby. gives baby some fresh air, you a workout so a double win. i took out my great nephew in one while babysitting him in chicago for a weekend last fall. It was lots of fun.
  • I have the wedding singer sound track! Also, Mama Mia, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Avenue Q and Book of Mormon. They all have a few spots on my workout playlist.
  • Wisconsin! Home of the beer belly, fried cheese curds and brats.
  • I'm gallbladder free! I have 0 tolerance for spicy foods. I am unable to eat most nightshades. I get sick from bell peppers and or tomato/s sauce.

  • I have found (w/ waterproof heart monitor) that I burn about 100 calories for every 5 minutes of lap swim. I asked an aqua fitness instructor at my Y and she said that an older adult class like silver sneakers will be about 100 calories for every 15 minutes. If you are doing a regular aqua fitness class you will burn about…
  • I have a freezer full of grouper and snapper (mangrove and hog) I caught this year in Florida. I am a huge cheat. I let it defrost and microwave it. It gets light and fluffy. I brush a tiny bit of butter on.... or olive oil... and that is it. Looks really impressive next to a steamed veg medley.
  •
  • Jones chicken sausage links and Greek yoghourt with berries. or Hummus with veggies and apple slices.
  • cucumber slices with either low fat cottage cheese or hummus. you can add celery or carrots too. my sister likes "angled eggs" or deviled eggs using hummus or yoghourt rather than mayo. popcorn (no salt, no butter) isn't bad either, they have them in 100 calorie bags ready to pop.
  • I drink lattes. I am not gonna stop. If I have coffee I add about 1/4C. of milk. (too acidic otherwise)
  • I will infuse water with veggies or fruits or herbs. put some cucumber slices into a water bottle and leave it in the fridge overnight. Yummy. You can do it with anything. Fruit: Lemons, sliced strawberries, blueberries, watermelon, cherries, grapes. Veggies: cucumbers, celery, ginger. Herbs: thyme, basil, rosemary, mint,…
  • I am trying to re-establish my habits. I am still "rewarding" myself (with latte's or chocolate) Once I establish my gym habit I will reduce my rewards. From every work out to every third to every 5th etc.

  • You can tell a lot about a person by how they treat others.

  • I make a cheesy carrot & parsnip mash that is yummy. 4 carrots, 4 parsnips. Steam & mash with butter. I add a 4 oz. of cheese melt, stir and enjoy. costs about $5. Less if you get farmers market produce. serves 6. If your kids are picky mash really well and call 'em cheesy taters. Serve with pork or chicken and a veg they…
  • Once a month I go to Godiva and get a chocolate of my choice. Sometimes it makes the log.... but not always.
